jkeaton, a few questions for you.
Any issues with condensation? I bought LEDs for my Town Car, before I took the lights out, then realized they had closed covers on the back of the housings. Ended up sending them back. I gave some thought to cutting holes for the fans, but was sure condensation would be a problem. And, any splashed water might find its way into the housing.
I'm guessing you just eyeballed the locations for the fan holes, then cut, correct?
And, for the LED haters out there, here's what I found on my F-150. LEDs in a reflector housing WILL scatter and blind oncoming traffic, IF you get crappy LED bulbs. First ones I tried were terrible, scatter and no definable cutoff. Next set worked perfectly, no issues. The key seems to be the location of the diodes on the "stem" in the center of the bulb, and proper orientation of the diodes once locked in place.. If the diode location mimics that of the halogen filament, it reflects properly. Anything else is unacceptable. Many think if it's not factory OEM, it's not good. Ever meet a late model Acura MDX on a rainy night? The glare is terrible, but the DOT gurus seem to think there's no problem.
I get zero flashbacks in my F-150, so I know they work.
