My Lincoln
Corsair 2022
My 2022 Corsair Reserve does not have wireless phone charging in console. It has a cover over that area. If I buy a used one from a Corsair that was in an accident, will it work in my car? Does it have to be programmed to work?
Thanks!

It will need programming as it contains the WACM. That will also require the SYNC APIM to be reprogrammed as well.

I find the wireless charging to be quite bad ... '25 Premiere. Heats up the phone while hardly providing much of a charge. We just plug our phones in if needed.
I'm with you. Used a couple of times on my '22 GT when it was new, but ultimately we just keep a USB in the console.

Just curious Matt, what is WACM and why would it need to be programmed when all it does is just charge the phone with power?
Wireless Accessory Charging Module. And it would need programmed because it communicates with other modules (such as the APIM for example) for OTA updates as well as charging status. Some WACMs also have built in fans to keep the charger and device its charging cooled down while in operation and use the network communications for temperature inside the vehicle too since the WACM will not charge a device when the cabin of the vehicle is outside of operating limits. Hope this helps.

If you are using an iPhone, turn off the "Optimized Battery Charging" setting located in the Settings app under "Battery" then "Charging". Also make sure its centered on the charger, and not sliding off (if needed a flash drive or pack of gum or lip balm is like the perfect size to keep your phone centered if you dont have the "Max" or "Plus" sized phones. I use a flash drive to keep my iPhone 15 Pro (non-max) from sliding up off the charging pad when I brake. Works well for my wifes Corsair and her iPhone 16 (non Plus) too. If you are going to use a stick of gum or lip balm, make sure to take them with you when you get out of the vehicle as they will melt/leak in the heat.
