Wife looking at 2024 Nautilus a lot of Buy backs

If you want to see vehicles with constant and mass issue read any Land Rover forum. So many issues. Of course there are buyers that never had any issues at all. Usually the people that post the most are those with issues looking for solutions.

I generally don't trust CR anymore. Their auto reliability has become an echo chamber. I've had issues with appliances and even linens that they recommended in the past 5 years that turned into complete junk.

My favorite CR grudge has always been the 1996 Mercury Sable and Ford Taurus. The Sable was above average reliability but the Taurus was below average. The components in the Taurus they deemed unreliable were the same exact components that were reliable in the Sable.

Some solid comments in this thread which I just re-read. This one should be a clear warning...

they explained that they have contracts with local businesses, resulting in frequent turnovers

So they tell you a lie right out of the box. That would be a deal breaker for me.
Yes, I just read article about major lawsuits about cars being sold as new that were previously titled. In some cases paperwork says 50 miles then car has 2k, etc. Various levels of lying and fraud.

It's largely stats from their canvassing their readers. Lots of room for error. It is useful as a source, but that is it. I remember their wonderful Samsung washing machines that corroded near the bleach dispenser and also exploded until they had a recall. CR is not omnniscient.

Wife and I are happy with our 24 Nautilus Hybrid, for us a few software glitches with sound and reset fixed. Did injector service bulletin at 1500 miles to be safe. Currently over 8k on the clock. I am early adopter of vehicles changes, got ERay and did 19 Sierra Denali, now have 2025 Sierra Denali Ultimate with 6.2L.

The Lincoln line, in spite of their super appearance, is destined to failure. Buy one and it will probably be your last. The reputation is in the toilet amongst so many owners. What they could do is establish a network of service support that can address the many problems but what they ARE doing is trying to digitalize every feature which creates even more problems. Too bad. Looks attracted me but performance repels me to a different brand.

Then why are you still here?

Well, I'm not "here" very much but I take it you only want positive comments. That's the way Ford functions, sweep it all under the rug. I can only spread the truth no matter how you want to color it. But I have better and far more important issues to address. Get a life, buy an Audi.

The problem is Ford in general has not been focusing on quality for some time. Lincoln's issues can be fixed with more robust designs and testing. I consider the build quality good but it will have issues if the underlying design is not ready for mass production.

Just curious. Why Audi?

I agree Lincoln has tons of problems. 2.0 pre-2019 had coolant issues, etc. Pick your car carefully, think carefully about a warranty. The thing is, post-2020, few carmakers do not have issues. Nissan cvts, Honda oil dilution on 1.5s, GM 2.4 ecotec, Hyundai theta. Toyota having major engine issues on their Turbo V6s. Don't get me started about Stellantis. I think cars pre-2020 were generally better. cvts, DI, variable cylinder management, small displacement with turbos, plastic in critical coolant components, etc. Ford does have a shocking lack of regard, but even Toyotas seem increasingly disposable. Sad for an average transaction price nearing 50k pre-tax.
My CPO Nautilus has been trouble-free so far. But I'm still holding on to my Lexus LS430 for dear life.

People can read for themselves and decide. Your constant hammering of Ford on this site seems a bit much. I mean, GM had the Chevy Cobalt ignition switch. Google's motto is (was!) "don't be evil" but really?

I am not saying Lincoln is not worse on particular cars, but it is nothing new and the sad state of the world. I don't think it is unique to Ford. Buy a Toyota for the best odds. Everyone knows that. But that may be changing, and no guarantees, sadly.

Must be bored, resuscitating a thread where the last post had been on 25 July...
