WHEN WILL MY CORSAIR BE BUILT

Thanks again, @NJRonbo.

At 9 AM this morning, for what it's worth, I got another "update" from the Lincoln Concierge:

Good morning, I checked on your Corsair and it is still in Order Processing. At this time my resources do not indicate an ETA on when it will be built. I will provide another update for you on July 5th. Have a great day!

Also, a VIN will not be issued until my car is "assigned to be built" — so I have nothing to track until that happens.

I'll post any updates as they occur.

I read somewhere (perhaps here) that Lincoln is contacting folks who have an order in asking for a driver's license, supposedly to keep dealers honest (so they won't order one they want for stock, and pretend it is assigned to a specific buyer)

I'm following this thread because I ordered my Corsair GT on April 1 (yup, April Fool's Day), and I really haven't heard anything.

On April 4, I got the perfunctory acknowledgement from Lincoln... then nothing. I did get in touch with the Lincoln Concierge, and that's nice. A very friendly person sends me periodic updates to tell me that they have no update. There's really nothing I can track until they issue a VIN and I have no idea how long that will be. My Corsair GT is the basic model (no additional options), so you'd think that would help speed the process. From what I'm seeing here, I guess it won't be delivered until late September... maybe October.

*sigh*

This won't make you feel any better, but it took 5 months for my Nautilus to be built (ordered late March 2021, delivered mid August 2021). It seems like the GT models are taking longer, likely because of the specialized battery and powertrain parts.

My only words of advice are to be patient. You will get your car, and it will be fabulous!

On Thursday (June 23), I got a notice from Lincoln. My Corsair GT is scheduled to be built the week of August 15... AND I now have a VIN!

With any luck, I'll have my GT in September. I'm sharing this because there were several other April orders in this thread, so don't despair. Things are moving along.

Great sign! You will for sure now that the VIN has been created.

A good buddy of mine fell in love with my GT at first site and within 3 days ordered my exact configuration with my same dealer. They are telling customers 5 months between order and delivery. I'll post when we see progress. This is a guy who has ordered Audi's the last 20 years but Audi did a very nasty thing last year and delivered him a car without a working entertainment system. Crashed daily. The dealer told him the car was missing chips but they would make it right over time. They never did so he contacted Audi Corporate. They were furious with the dealer for giving him that car. They forced the dealer to take it back and they had to deliver a check for $52K for the 2 years he had the non-functioning car. So, Audi seems to be in worse shape chip wise according to what Audi told him.

I don't know what to tell you, @Sforan — the Corsair GT I ordered is the base model. Did yours have a lot of options? Maybe your order is being delayed because they're waiting for parts needed for one of the options. If so, there's probably not a whole lot you can do about that.

Have you contacted the Lincoln Concierge? They may be able to provide more specifics. I hope you hear something soon.

Yes, you're probably right. I did order options. But what is the Lincoln Concierge? How do I contact or connect with them?

Call the number, give them whatever information you have, and they will walk you through their process. They're very friendly.

It's not that complicated.

I did call and was very surprised how friendly and knowledgeable they were. Very impressed.
The agent did inform me that the build delay is due to the chip shortage and no ETA when the build will start.

My order for a GT, all packages, and all options except for the less comfortable larger wheels, was placed in January. Regular updates repeatedly extended the build week five times. Most recently, for this week.

But I haven't received an update for a month now, and the "Track My Vehicle" link hasn't worked in weeks.
I just got off the phone with the Lincoln concierge, who told me the car is in fact currently being built.

Good news for someone who'd like a loaded, bronze smoke GT in a month or two!

Because I'm in love with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio I bought last month in its stead. I wanted the Corsair because I liked it as an exclusive PHEV. But driving the ICE Alfa has been such a pleasure that mileage does not concern this retiree. I can't imagine being as happy with a Lincoln, especially comparing the owner complaints in this forum to those in the Stelvio forum. (Yes, I know all about the phenomenon of recording complaints vs praises, but the difference between the criticisms of these two cars is remarkable.) I'm back in another sports car, one that transports doggies and groceries!

Understand that dealers are not supposed to add markup like that. Ford has been slapping down dealers that do that. My dealer, Ted Britt in Chantilly, VA, does not do that as they sell so much volume they don't need to do that. It's disgusting and indicates the kind of old school tricks. I would avoid any dealer that does that. You can buy from anyone but usually your best price is to order from the Factory. If you want to save a few thousand dollars, you can use the Ford X-Plan though major employer agreements with Ford. If your employer does not offer that, you can easily join the Mustang Club of America for $50 and then wait 3 months to use their X-Plan number to get the discount. You can also go through Costco to get a similar discount through selected dealers. Highly recommend the X-Plan as it provides a locked in price, much smaller documentation fee and knocks out all the negotiation bull that normally happens. When I walked in to pick up my 22 GT, I was out of the dealer in less than an hour. Most enjoyable car buying process I have ever had.

Usually some dealers post vehicles as in transit meaning on order. They could include some ordered by customers. Understand that when you order, you have not signed any contract and the vehicle is not yours until it is legally signed over. So, that means the dealer can sell it to someone else even though you ordered it. I have heard of that happening for lots of reasons. My dealer does not do that but there are different actors out there that are out to make a buck anyway they can. I have cultivated my relationship with my dealer and know they really well as I have bought cars from them the past 30 years. They know me well and know that when I order, I buy. No games played on either side.
