Watched some of the snow melt off the hood. The roads should be clear next week to take her out.

Did a trip to the junkyard. Found a trim piece for the driver's seat rail, a full size tire retaining hook that turned out to be the wrong one for my Town Car, and a set of proper lug nuts as the guy that had the car before me had the wrong ones on there.

To honor the gentleman who left me his car, when he passed -- whose direct request was to "consider a fast food bumpersticker, or at least a mudflap girl or two, for it," as he was a glorious contrarian and scholarly counterculturalist -- commissioned a completely non-Pontiac-sourced, unique "phoenix resplendent" art design, vectorized it, had it cut from the sort of rainbow pebbled holographic material of questionably-distasteful legend, and very discreetly set it as the "shadow" of my hood ornament. Yes. It's true. Sebastian is adorned with a Screaming Chicken, or as my wife and I have dubbed it, a Rare Greater Crested Disco Kestrel.



Some of you will be soundly horrified by this, and to this, I can simply say "it's tiny, it's subtle, but yes, this impact is not entire unintended." I honor the man whose magnum opus was a groundbreaking book on the philosophy of dialogue whose central point an be summed up with "Academics, such as myself, are self-congratulatory ivory-tower hidebound [expletive]s and that's what's wrong with discourse these days" by recognizing that I'm just not at his level of Extremely Intellectually Punk, but...I honor it.

This has a fascinating side effect that I only discovered after installation. Not only does my hood ornament now have a stardust-colored "Spirit of Ecstacy"-esque "shadow" cast in rainbow light behind it, but it now glows rainbow in backscattered, pebbled disco light, in the morning and evening. It's really rather lovely, and visible only from the driver's and passengers' perspective.



I am equal parts ashamed of myself and kind of delighted. I completely understand if I'm lifetime-banned from this forum for crimes against good taste. In my defense, or perhaps sealing my fate and begging contempt of court...I regret absolutely nothing.

Changed the oil and exercised my car on a short highway cruise afterwards..
I should probably come up with some unique name for him/her, as i've owned for 6 years already and still couldn't decide on a name. My family calls him "the Beast", but I don't fancy that name all that much. Anyone have any suggestions? Can be male or female

Mainly protection against debris on the roadway/rough roads, etc. Also probabally has some benefit for deflecting air under the vehicle.

No. It's faux leather over a very dense foam pad. I constructed the whole thing out of 1/2" MDF, and then applied a faux woodgrain finish using 3 colors of stain and some brown paint. Thanks!

Car handles much better around corners and curves.

The bars are made by Eibach and sold through ADTR (a company that sells aftermarket and performance parts for Panther cars)

Front is 1 3/8" and rear is 1"

Not sure about the OE bars for this vehicle.
My 70 Mark III had hollow from far and no rear bar
I bought a slightly larger solid bar for the front and had the same result.

For Mark IV, Ford put a rear bar on. A smaller one for the second year of Mark IV and a larger one for the 3rd and later years. I will pick up a used OE rear bar at some point.
