My Lincoln
Corsair 2022
I read that the Walk Away Lock is available for the Corsair. I have the Lincoln Way app and use my phone to unlock. The feature auto locks doors after vehicle is turned off and leaving car with phone. Went to the SYNC screen, settings, Vehicle, but I don’t find the Walk Away slider listed to turn the feature on. Is it not available on 2022 Reserve?

I have a '22 GT and have never seen that feature.

Where did you find out this was available? The only way I would think it could be is through some software update.

Hi JoJoB. No, there is no feature currently available on Lincoln vehicles which automatically locks the vehicle as we walk away.

Perhaps you can post a link to the article where you read that?

Keep us posted and good luck.

I had not asked about locking or searched Corsair features in a few months, but when I opened Google, this came up:

AI Overview+1
To enable Walk Away Auto Lock on your 2022 Lincoln Corsair Reserve, start your vehicle, press the right side selector wheel on the steering wheel to access the digital cluster, navigate to Vehicle Settings > Door Setup, and select "Walk Away Auto Lock," then choose "On". Once enabled, the vehicle will beep to confirm locking after you exit with the key fob and move away from the vehicle.
Step-by-step instructions:
Start the vehicle: With the vehicle in Park and the ignition on.
Access the digital cluster: Press the right side selector wheel on the steering wheel to access the instrument cluster.
Navigate to vehicle settings: Scroll to and select "Vehicle Settings".
Select door setup: Find and select the "Door Setup" option.
Enable Walk Away Auto Lock: Choose "Walk Away Auto Lock" and then select "On".
Confirm the settings: The system will take a moment to save the setting.
How it works:
After enabling, when you exit the vehicle with your key fob, and close all doors and the liftgate, the vehicle will beep once to indicate it has sensed your presence nearby.
When you move at least 8 feet away from the vehicle, it will beep again to confirm the doors are locked.
If you hear a series of rapid beeps for about two seconds, it means the doors have not locked, and you should check if all doors and the trunk are closed, and the key fob is not inside the vehicle.

It was an AI post and untrue.

To enable "Walk Away Auto Lock" on your 2022 Lincoln Corsair Reserve, turn the vehicle on, put it in park, go to Settings > Vehicle > Door Setup via the touchscreen, and select Walk Away Auto Lock On. For the feature to work, you must have your remote or phone key with you, and all doors and the liftgate must be closed after you exit the vehicle
Enabling Walk Away Auto Lock
  1. Access the vehicle settings: With the vehicle in park and the ignition on, press the vehicle icon on your SYNC screen.

  2. Navigate to settings: Select Settings, then Vehicle.

  3. Select Door Setup: Scroll to and select Door Setup.

  4. Turn on the feature: Select Walk Away Auto Lock and then turn the slider to On.
How it Works
  • When you turn the vehicle off, close all doors and the liftgate, and walk away with your key fob or Phone As A Key, the doors will lock automatically.

  • Your vehicle will beep once to signal it is locking.

  • It will beep a second time to confirm the doors are locked.

  • If you hear a series of rapid beeps, it means the doors have not locked, likely because a key is still inside the vehicle.

It was an AI post and untrue although it mentioned a 2022 Lincoln Corsair and described step by step how to enable Walk Away Lock. The option described wasn’t in my settings.

Hi JoJoB. Yes, that information was/is incorrect.

Good luck. 🍻

Actually. The feature IS there, we just need it enabled in the as built data and that can be done with a program like FDRS or FORscan. It has been enabled on my wifes 24 Reserve II and my 23 Nautilus BL.

Thank you very much for your help. I checked on FDRS and FORScan but don’t trust my ability to use them. The cost seemed high, too. Suppose I just keep using the handle lock.

It's been several years but you used to be able to get a one month access for a modest fee. But if the user interface is unchanged, but can be scary.

Hi JoJoB. I’m sure you are aware of this, but you can also use the interior power door lock as you get out of the vehicle, and/or the lock button on the keyfob as you walk away etc.

Good luck.

Hmmm... My '23 car does have that feature. I use it all the time (unless the battery voltage gets lower and then it stops working.)

Hi tidji74. You park your car, get out, close the door unlocked, then walk away from it…and it automatically locks without you doing anything?
No pressing any buttons or touching any sensors?

If yes, you would be the first to have that feature from the factory.

Keep us updated and good luck.

That is exactly how it works. I will take a photo of my settings and will also try to film/post it here.

Hi tidji74. That’s great! And it will be a big help to many who have asked about this previously mysterious feature.

Keep us updated and good luck.

No such luck with my '23 GTIII. Very odd that they are not consistent.
