I am about to get first tire rotation on my Nautilus. Cannot find if there is something needed to reset TPMS to adjust to new wheel positions. Appreciate any help: is it automatic after a few minutes?

I believe they automatically align the signal with the wheel, so if you move the wheels around, the receive sensor(s) on the vehicle figures out which signal is coming from which wheel (after a short period of driving).

Thank you. I held off for now, but good to know.

The description in the '24 Nautilus workshop manual doesn't sound like the new generation Nautilus will figure out which wheel a given TPMS has been moved to. It doesn't use separate short-range antennas in each wheel well needed for that to occur.

Someone had asked about TPMS a couple weeks ago, I found this in the WSM:
"...however, the BCM cannot recognize the sensor identifiers have been moved to different positions and retains the original position information for each sensor."
I have a service scheduled for Monday. I'll check with the service advisor and post his explanation.

Thanks everyone for this. Funny thing is a private quick oil chnge place told me today that some cars cannot be fixed after a rotation. That made 0 sense. It was a receptionist, but she has been there for years. My Cadillac XTS had this happen once after dealer service that was far away, so I went to Mavis tire chain nearby and paid thej to fix it. I assume any car can be reset with the relearn tool. But I kind of lost confidence in them since I am going on a 300 mile trip and don't need a TPMS light going off. But sounds like he 2021 may autodetect with antennae...

D'oh, sorry, I hadn't seen that yours is a '21 (phone mobile browser doesn't display the vehicles-owned blurb for a poster). My error.

The '21 may have the antennas-in-wheel-wells, which would allow the vehicle to track where a tire has been moved to during a tire rotation.

Just checked with SA a d both the '21 and '24+ need to be reset for position. The sensor will continue to be picked up by the vehicle, but indicate their old position.

Thanks for confirming.

The dealer techs are supposed to do this for you. However alot of them dont. However, you can buy your very own Ford TMPS tool on amazon, theyre fairly cheap, and DIY. To put the vehicle in TPMS Training Mode:

With the vehicle OFF and driver door OPEN:
Press and Release the brake pedal ONCE.
Immediately press the engine start button (Ignition ON-Engine OFF)
Turn off, then on, then off, then on (Ignition should be ON, Engine OFF)
Press and release the brake pedal once more.
Turn ignition off. Then on, then off, then on, then off, then lastly back on.

Horn should sound. Instrument cluster should say "Train Front Left Tire"

Take the TPMS tool to the left front tire, touch it to the valve stem, and press the button. Upon successful training, the horn will sound on each wheel. Check the instrument cluster for tire training order, and training complete message when finished.
