‘23 Corsair Reserve III

My touchscreen has frozen 3 times upon starting. Turning off car and restarting has solved the problem each time but it is annoying as I can’t control any A/C or radio functions unless it’s operating properly.

Curious if anyone else has had this issue. Literally the first thing that has been a bummer about my ‘23.

I’ve had it once or twice with my 2022. Yes shutting the car off and waiting until the system completely shuts down fixes it. Hopefully if you get a sync update it fixes it. Sometimes re loading sync fixes a lot of issues. I actually had to downgrade mine and it fixed a bad issue I had that the dealer thought they were going to have to replace the APIM module. Been working better with the lower level of sync. Go figure lol

Dumb question - how do I get a sync update? Will updates not auto download?

You can also do a manual reboot of the SYNC system. Here is the link for a video to show you how to do it.

That works but that’s what sent my APIM south the last time. I had the touch screen freeze and did the key sequence. It rebooted and the touch screen was working again. It might be coincidental but it was right after that the APIM took a dump. So I would just caution to use that as a last resort. My touch screen froze one time after I fixed everything and I just shut the car, closed and locked the door and walked away for five minutes. Came back and let it shut down and re boot normally and everything was fine.

Hi Kfs377. Sorry to hear about these issues with your new Corsair. In my opinion: When a new vehicle has electronic issues like this, it is best to have them addressed by the Dealership. If it is not a major problem and bother, have it addressed on your next routine service visit, oil change etc. It it is a bother, call and schedule a service visit for as soon as possible.

While I realize that opinions will differ, I feel this is best for the following reason: DIY stopgaps such as SYNC Master Resets, battery disconnections etc. can sometimes/often wind up being temporary band-aids. They often do not permanently fix a more serious underlying issue, they only temporarily hide it. And sometimes, the band-aid will only last long enough for our vehicle to be out of warranty.

While your 2023 certainly has plenty of warranty left, it is always best to get these issues corrected, or at least on the record, as soon as possible.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Yes my ‘23 Corsair went blk twice now. Push and hold down radio on button and fwd radio control. After 30-60 seconds screen will come on release buttons.

Mine has frozen too many times to count on my 2020 Aviator. It has been replaced twice. Rebooted. I feel like I have a lemon of a car. The back shocks have been fixed twice and still sound like a squeeky old jalopy. I hate it.
