touch screen black

Well, it doesn't work on my 2019 MKZ.
Battery went dead, had it jumped, and charged. Tried holding the ON button and Seek Forward button at least 10 times. Nothing! Screen is still Black. Lincoln dealer too busy. Said to bring it back in 2 weeks. Never heard of the hold button procedure.
What do I do next?
Did you get the issue figured out? Mine isn't working with the volume & seek button.

I’ve had this happen on my 2020 aviator also. Sitting with it parked, I could get nothing to work like turning it off and on again or getting out of the car and back in. But I called the dealer and he suggested a reboot of the APIM. That means hold down the radio ON button, while also holding down the SEEK FORWARD button. Hold them down for a little while and the thing will reboot and the display will come back. I’m assuming it’s the same on the Corsair. That instruction was also hidden in the owners manual under the diagnostics for a SYNC. I don’t know why this happens, but this at least is how to get out of it.
Worked on my Lincoln MIX, Thank you so much. Happened one other time when I was driving a distance. I was without radio and phone until I got home. I guess it rebooted on its own cause next morning came on. Thanks again for sharing the info.

My 2022 GT screen froze today. None of the touchscreen functions worked. I was able to change radio stations by turning the knob.

WIll have to try the reset later today and see if that fixes it.

Getting tired of these little things going wrong with the vehicle.

HELP!

Are the Fuse links OK?

The screen on my 2022 GT has frozen twice. First time it fixed itself. Second time the reset procedure worked.

Thanks that’s a great help

I’ve had this happen a few times on my old 2017 Ford Taurus. Most of the time I found that shutting the vehicle and closing and locking the door and leaving it alone for like ten minutes worked. Got a 2022 Corsair. Did the new sync and map updates via usb. Everything was fine for like two days. Came out one morning….black screen. Didn’t know about button sequence reset so I did the shut it off lock the door and walk away for a few. Came back screen came on. So it def seems like it’s confusion/needs reboot of sync module. But I did have one thought. I had auto updates and wi fi turned on in settings (this never worked for me before) but what if it actually tried to do the update automatically and it got confused or didn’t finish correctly. So just a thought. I turned off automatic updates and connect to my home wi fi. I mean I always do the updates by usb anyway. We shall see. But thanks for the button sequence fix. I may need it one day lol

Black screen today after auto start. Remembered the button sequence. Did it while I was driving and the screen re booted. Still don’t know why this happens sometimes

How was it jumped? Did you put the jumpers direct on the battery? If so you might have did something to the computer. They say the way to jump start is to put one wire on the positive post of the battery and the other on someware on the body (negative side). Just a thought.

My 2019 MKC touch screen froze and lags. Went through all of the resets. No change. I do have the best extended warranty so I guess I'll let the dealer handle it.

I have a 2017 MKZ hybrid and lost power over the winter (not used for 3 months). I recharged the battery at 2 amps for a few days while not trying anything else. After the 3 days on the charger I tried the fixes mentioned here but to no success. Anyone have any other ideas? RNS3142@yahoo.com

My comments, besides the fact that you posted in the wrong sub-forum (this is MKC/Corsair sub forum)...I have owned Toyota Hybrids, very similar to Ford/Lincoln forums....

The 12V Battery may need to be replaced, how old is it? If the problem is not the 12V battery, then the Hybrid battery may need to be looked at by a dealer.
