Soft close door

2018 Continental Reserve. Driver’s door doesn’t soft close but the other doors do. It was working fine until a couple weeks ago. Any suggestions?

Hello Flthc,
Your Soft-Close door cinch motor is not working - as you know.

Do you see a Diagnostic Trouble code in your instrument panel?

I looked in my Service Manual and it says - 'The cinch motor is part of the door latch control module and is not replaceable separately'.
If you can provide a diagnostic trouble code, I can tell you what process the manual says to use in order to check the electrical function.

There is no trouble code on the instrument panel beside door is ajar. I could hook up my code reader to the computer later today to see if it has a code.

Pull the code.

The other possibilities are poor connections, broken wires or other electrical connection issue.

Flthc,
Yes, scan your OBD system for a trouble code.
Also see if your code reader can read body codes. Body codes may not show up in your instrument panel.
