My Lincoln
2024 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve III Hybrid
Just recently bought a 2024 Nautilus Reserve 3 and while I have many small issues (trying to search them all before asking), should the word Lincoln be lit in the rear like on the design page? towards the bottom https://www.me.lincoln.com/en/are/vehicles/nautilus/design/
I just don't want to assume since it's on the website, it went into production as such.

If so, is it only while in Drive or while braking? Just came from a night time drive and put in park (auto lights on), got out and while everything else in back lit..Lincoln is completely dark.

Thank you in advance.

I wondered when this topic would come up.
This is one of those decisions by Lincoln that makes no sense. The visibility of the Lincoln lettering in the rear is already difficult to see as stands. So Lincoln decides to make only the Black Labels lettering temporarily light up for a short amount of time.
Why as a company you would purposely limit visible advertisement of your brand is beyond me.
Every Nautilus should have illuminated lettering and it should be visible when the front light bar & emblem is on.

Now I've had my Reserve ll and a Black Label right next to eachother and on very close inspection the Reserve rear lettering looks in every way identical unilluminated to the Black Label.
So it makes me wonder if they all might have those small led lights built into them but only the Black Labels are plugged in.
Because the 2024 Nautilus is so new that kind of information is just not available yet so the only way to find out is to take everything apart and look for ourselves.

If it's discovered only the Black Label lettering has built in LED lights then at some point Factory Black Label lettering will be available for purchase or aftermarket lettering.
However If they all happen to have LED's built in then hooking them up should be fairly easy.
Having the rear lettering illuminated when the lights are on is definitely something I'm going to upgrade on my Nautilus as it's something that should have been standard on all 2024 Nautilus

To further @Rinsky's comment, even on the Black Label, the Lincoln rear badging is a bit baffling. Even when lit, the Lincoln lettering is somewhat hidden because the top red bar overhangs and hides it. It's a cool feature when lit, but you've got to scrunch down to really see it.

And they are only illuminated while parked, not while driving.
Another member mentioned that it's a DOT rule that there can't be white rear lighting when a car is moving forward. Presumably to distinguish whether a car is moving toward or away from you. That seems to make sense.

I have looked into the light bars on the rear liftgate illuminated on the Black Label and non illuminated on the Reserve. They are in fact different part # s so maybe the lack of leds for the non illuminated.

Some people want to light them up; others want to black them out. :(

To light them up you would have to replace the part then would require special programming. Cost prohibited.
