My Lincoln
2019 Navigator
Just bought my 2019 Navi and I want to love it but the shady untruths from the out of state dealer are wreaking havoc on my experience.
Is there any way to see “service engineer soon” code history via Lincoln?
Oddly, exactly 200 miles after I received my Navi it is throwing codes, emissions due to valve failure issues, oil check/leak not to mention the oil dripping onto serpentine belt creating a wicked bad squeal, fuel fill debris code…..
I’m looking at $100s in repairs so any insight that could help me with discussions with the selling dealer would be greatly appreciated.
These guys literally told me on the phone, “it is what it is”. Not a single F was given on their end.
This is a sale they are going to regret. I work hard for my money, y’all are playing a game with the wrong gal.
Now, I know that sometimes these kinds of repairs just happen. I can deal with that, it’s the one right after the other that seem to be more of a lipstick smearing off the pig scenario than coincidence.

Sorry to hear that. A lot of unscrupulous sellers. Hope your repairs are not too involved. Depending on the laws of the state the purchase was made, your options may be extremely limited…..

I believe all alerts and service messages are somehow recorded and available via the Lincoln app - even if the codes are 'deleted'.

While I sparingly used the Lincoln app with my recently sold 2016 Navigator, it did maintain a full service history and record of alerts. When I sold the vehicle, the new owner then had access to the entire vehicle history via the VIN number.

The Lincoln app with my 2024 Navigator has a full history of service records but I just checked it and it does not have the full history of alerts under the Alert History of the Service tab? It only shows alerts back to last month when I know there was prior history which brings to question what happened to the previously recorded history. That's the thing I hate about "apps"... what's available today may be gone tomorrow.

You can also access some vehicle service information via CarFax using the vehicle VIN? This relies on input from participating sources so the history may not be 100% complete. Again, using my recent 2016 Navigator as an example, virtually all my vehicle history was available as it was pretty much 100% serviced at my local dealer who participated in the program.

I do not know first hand but you would think the complete code and alert history would be available in the vehicle's computer and modules but would require more than a generic 'code scanner' to retrieve.

Thank you. Unfortunately it goes back into the service center next week and I will ask them what’s available. I found a wonderful dealership, little far from me, but absolutely stellar customer service.

I am giving them an opportunity to make it right by at the very least paying the extended warranty deductible and anything not covered under the warranty. If they choose to play games, I can play too. I will spend my vacation in their lot talking to every person that thinks of doing business with them. I will startup my Navi so they can hear it and see its condition and show them the videos I received from the dealer prior. They will know me well. I’m so tired of the general lack of customer service literally everywhere.
I normally take my licks and move on, chalk it up to lesson learned, not gonna let this slide. $40k paid and I intended on getting what I paid for

Edit... I found the prior history for alerts listed under Messages by clicking the user icon in the upper right corner of the app. Of interesting note... apparently these "messages" can be individually deleted. I choose to keep any messages related to Alerts and only delete service advertisements/offers.
