My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus Reserve II Hybrid
Anyone else using satellite radio having reception problems? I've had several other vehicles prior to my Nautilus with satellite radio and had very little reception issues. Haven't moved or changed driving routes and the Nautilus definitely loses the signal way more than my previous vehicles.

I have had a few issues but I let the trial end. I am under the impression that Sirius uses the internet (so cell service) for some channels. If correct this may be your issue

I created a unique issue for myself that I discovered recently.

I park in a garage 2 blocks away from my apartment, so I had logged the car into the parking garage's Xfinity guest wifi network to do updates. I kept having issues where my Sirius kept hanging and dropping out randomly while driving. I happened to look over and notice that as I was driving it was grabbing onto a 1 or 2 bar wifi signal instead of a 5 bar cellular signal. When I disconnected Wifi no more issues. So it will prioritize a bad Wifi signal over cellular if it finds a stored Wifi network.

I have a subscription for the Nautilus and my understanding is that it gets the signal straight from a satellite to the car's antenna. My cell phone shouldn't have anything to do with the reception. Sirius XM will still play even if I don't have the phone in the car.

Our '25 R2 seems to have Sirius working fine, with my comparison being our Sirius-equipped '17 RX350. We get the same (known) dropouts in our local town (a couple of traffic-light downtown points where buildings obstruct the signal) and on a common rural drive (a section of road with steep hills where we're traversing around a hill -- again, known blockage areas).

And, yes, the base Sirius subscription picks it up off the satellite directly - I expect it's one of the antennas in the fin on the back of the roof (the fin has 3 connectors).

Thanks, I am comparing the Nautilus to the 2014 Highlander I replaced which almost never had reception issues. Driving in same locations and have much more reception issues with the Nautilus.

I have had no issues

Could be an issue with your Sirius receiver not quite up to spec, or a bad connection to the antenna.

You could check with your closest Lincoln dealer, see what they can do. Maybe there's an update for your vehicle's Sirius receiver, else doing an "A/B" check, your vehicle driven in a place with the issues and then a drive in a second Nautilus, to see if the other one has the same dropouts; if it doesn't, that would be a sign that there's something bad in your vehicle's Sirius.

Thanks all for the feedback. I'll discuss with my dealer to see what they can do.

This is a "yes and" scenario. It depends on which subscription package you have and whether the channel is live or streaming - and whether you have the 'start at the beginning of the song' turned on. I can't figure out whether the streaming is tied to the cellular modem via Premium Connectivity subscription or the Lincoln Way functionality.
