I have a 2010 MKT with 40k miles on it. After turning the car off and get out of the car it smells like rotten eggs. Anyone experience the same?

Rotten egg smell is from sulfur. I have no idea where that could come from. Cat converter, maybe?? Where in, or on, the MKT do you smell it? That would give us an idea what it may be coming from, and why.

sometimes I've had bad gas do that. lol

seriously though cheap gasoline can do that. When I purchase gas at BJ's, especially in the winter I've noticed this.

Thanks for the input. I do think the cat is going bad. The order will also come inside the car. I have tried all different brands of gas and it still has the sulfur smell
Any update on this? How did you fix it? I'm having a similar smell on mine. Definitely not gas. I only use top tier. Seems to be worse when in Sport mode.

Well, 2013, but yes, the OP must be really carefully formulating a follow up response. Lol

The update should be some Red Line fuel system cleaner and good gas...not all gasoline is the same, the cheaper, unbranded stuff often has a higher sulfur content owing to the the type of crude that its cracked from and the additives......why do you think it's that much cheaper?....which would create the rotten egg smell.
