Rear fog light & yellow rear blinkers for a 2006 Lincoln Town Car

Okay, small update from my side (besides the installed foglights from the previous post). I used a company called "CFR Classics" to ship the car to Europe, cost around $1500. It was a good deal, since we filled the car with moving items that we otherwise would have had to ship. It arrived after a few weeks (6-7 weeks iirc). Next step is to get it through homologization, and we decided to work with S.R. Point in Bremerhaven, will keep you posted. Jens

I'm very sorry I did not see your thread earlier, as I am not visiting this forum often.
I imported a town car to Germany, so it had to be homologized as well. Most of the work was done by S.R. Point, where you are going (or already have been) as well.

In regards of the amber turn signals, they installed very bright green LEDs in the bottom chambers of the tail lights. This produces a strong amber light through the red glass. The rear fog light replaced the left reverse light, sadly with an additional button on the dash. But it's not too bad as they used a quite neutral black switch with an orange light when activated.
Additionally I had to install new reflectors, as the reflectors integrated in the tail lights have no EU licence. I placed them on the rear bumper right above that small gouge.

The front lights also had to be modified. My beloved side markers where converted to turn signals, as you need side facing turn signals in Germany. This does not affect the cornering lights. For the regular front turn signals, the dim glow was disconnected, so they are either off or on. I reconnected them after the first (way more strict) inspection, so they operate normally again. I never had problems with the following inspections since today.

The last change was to add white parking lights to the front. They drilled small holes in the mirrors of the low beams, kind of half way between the actual bulb and the edge of the reflector. There they inserted small 5V bulbs. It looks very natural, as if they have always been there. One little negative point: They just hot glued the lamps in place. I had to replace both of them already, so it was quite a hassle to get them out without breaking the low beam mirror. The new bulbs now simply "stick" in the drill hole without glue and it works fine as well.

I'm just seeing this thread, but somebody achieved this solution a while back. Not sure if Ford did this work from the factory or if an export company did it. This photo was taken in Spain in the late '00s.b2da91a7a31bd5a541c2d633c85f8bb2c8f3778e-2000.webp
