I noticed my rear defroster doesn't seem to defrost.
With it on, I measured the voltage at each of the source connectors (at the left and right sides of the rear glass) at 12 volts. I then turned it off, and connected a portable 12v battery directly to those same connectors and noticed it was pulling only about 1 amp.
What amperage should the rear defroster pull?
I noticed that all of the horizontal glass-affixed heat wires (grid lines) are odd in color - Mostly an orange tint and in some places a blackish color.
I suspect the prior owner removed window tint off the rear glass, destroying the grid lines, but I am not really sure.
I also suspect that the 1 amp draw is perhaps the amount of current the rear glass "perimeter" heat wires may be pulling, if there is such a perimeter circuit.
Any guidance would be appreciated!
