Yesterday, I started my Lincoln and the blower will only work on high. I thought it was the resistor, but it won't shut off even after hitting the off button. It seems to just have a mind of its own although when I lowered the temperature to about 70 or so the blower seemed to ease up just a bit. ANY assistance would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Troy

Welcome.

The blower resister is only used on the manual system, the Town Car has the electronic automatic temperature control (EATC) that uses a module in the ground circuit of the blower motor called the blower motor speed control (BMSC) module. Your symptoms are classic for the BMSC module having a problem. Replacing the BMSC fixes the problem. The procedure to replace the BMSC is in the Lincoln Tech forum here: http://www.lincolnforums.com/forums...r-BMSC-Blower-Motor-Speed-Control-replacement

Good luck.

Wow! That was fast. Thank you so much. I will purchase the part and let you know how it goes. The internet(along with this forum) is awesome.
