My Lincoln
2025 Lincoln Corsair PHEV
Juust purchased a 2025 Corsair PHEV. Very l pleased so far with everything but the whine when first aceelerating and when decelerating. Sales rep said it is the electric motor being recharged/regenerated. Is there any remedy or help, oither than loud music? The sound dampening on the Corsair even with road noise is not the best.

No remedy as far as I know.

Realize, this is a safety feature.

I owned an MKZ with a hybrid motor before this safety feature was added. Several times I used to pull out of gas stations or parking spaces, almost hitting someone crossing the front of the car because they didn't hear the engine.

So, I can see the necessity of having the whine to alert people the car is in motion.

It's the pedestrian sounder.

Thank you your response to my question. I understand and will eventually not even notice it I am sure.

I have said this before and I will say it again. The pedestrian sounder is, in fact, a safety feature and a federal regulation. BUT, the volume of the Corsair sounder and the speed at which it finally turns off is, by all measures excessive. I have had 3 PHEVs now and a BEV. None have ever been as annoying as the Corsair.

If you can't get used to the annoying sound, feel free to send me a direct message.
