My Lincoln
2024 Navigator
My 2024 Navigator came with Perelli Scorpion Verde tires. To me they seem a little noisier on the highway then I expected them to be. Any opinions? Any suggestions for a different tire?

Bring up the link attached this will provide you with an extensive discussion regarding your inquiry...

Different tire lines from the same manufacturer will have different tread patterns...each with its own noise level. It depends on whether the tire is designed for smooth ride...off-roading...snow, etc. Carmakers buy tires based on availability as much as anything else...including costs.

It's hard to say which brand gives the best ride and noise level as they all have different lines for different purposes. A vehicle my wife once owned had Firestone Destination tires on it...very noisy. When they were replaced I bought Cooper Discoverer tires...much better riding and quiet.

You can either live with the Pirellis until it's time to replace them or look for something with a better reputation for ride. My own preferences are for Cooper or Michelin tires...I've found Cooper to be outstanding and equivalent to Michelin except maybe the Michelins ride a little better...but the Coopers are usually less expensive.

My 2006 Navigator came with Pirelli Scorpion tires when I bought it used in 2016.
I replaced them in 2019 with Michelins. Nicer ride and quieter.
These lasted until last week when I replaced the old Michelins with new Michelin Defender LTX M/S2

The old ones got a lil noisy at the end and the ride wasn't as good as when new.
The new ones, nice and quiet. And back to better control on the road.

I've never been a fan of Pirelli tires and I've had them as original equipment on past vehicles. I was actually surprised they are on my 2024 Navigator. I'm on the fence as to replace them or just wear them out.

I just ran mine until they were down close to the wear bars.
At the time I was unsure I wanted Michelins. I had some other brand on previous vehicles.
I had thought the Michelins were overpriced as a tire just needed to be round, black and hold air.
This first set changed my mind.

Me too.

Ive had pirelli scorpions on a number of expeditions (non oem).

I think they are quiet and ride well but they don't last at all. They wear out fast and i'm a senior.

I think the Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 is the best tire for the nav/expy.

Has anyone tried the new Pirelli Scorpion AS PLUS 3?

I've been heavily researching alternative tires and the ratings for the new AS Plus 3 tires trump the Verde series hands down and slightly edge out other competitors in most categories.

I haven't heard if them. I just ordered a set of Michelin tires. I will report back on the difference. Hopefully positive

I have them on my 24 L - i prefer them to the OEM Verdes. FWIW - Slight road noise increase for what I think is a jump in ride quality and comfort. Longer treadlife and warranty through Pirelli as well.
