My Lincoln
2026 Lincoln nautilus
So I see 2026’s are “in transit”. So I’m thinking alright sales men, I’d like to preorder.

Red flag: he keeps trying to save me money picking out 2025s with the inferior blue cruise.

So I authorized 2k on my credit card… big mistake…

Cause now I don’t see the charge coming out.

Red flag 2, he keeps promising the “finance guys didn’t process it yet”…

Now I feel I can’t go anywhere else cause the finance guys will auto magically process the money and it looks like I forfeit.

I feel for the guy, he’s probably mandated to only sell 2025s. But I feel the delay to “process my charge” and will take longer to actually get my car.

All I wanted was a black one with special rims. Apparently no one in the us pre-ordered the combination for initial bank.

Any thoughts?

Yes....I have a thought!
Call your CC company, and cancel that charge right away!
After they do that, let the dealer know you did so.
After that, move on to a new dealer & start all over again!
You see the red flags already as you pointed out. You are to be commended for that.
If they are not transparent with you at this early stage, what's in store later on?
Run, do not walk away from this dealer & never look back.

See I was hoping for a response of, no no, all dealers are like this, or “that’s what I’m going thru for my 2026”.

So on the flip side I’m “stalking” the 2026 by constantly checking for upload date YouTube videos. And the number of videos for 25s has increased. So I’m thinking the push is at ford level.

So if I go to another dealer I’m expecting the exact same behavior but maybe I give a bank check instead? Like I know I have to give some money right to hold the order? I need someone to “break character” and just tell me straight what’s happening.

Hi Iwantmy2026nautilus. There may be absolutely nothing wrong here. Or there may be. To even begin to offer useful advice, more information may help. For example:
- What paperwork, if any, do you have?
- Did you place an actual order with the dealership? If the Order Bank is open, they can place an order.
- If yes, did you receive a copy of the VOC (Vehicle Order Confirmation)?
- If yes, you are all set, and they simply did not process the hold on your credit card yet. Or they may not even bother to place the hold, since a card number, check etc. is often only taken as a verification that the customer is serious about the purchase.
- If you placed an order but did not receive a VOC, call, or better yet stop by, and ask for a copy. A finalized VOC is the proof an order was placed.
- If you never placed the order, then you need to place the order for the vehicle you want.

While not all encompassing, the answers to the above questions may help solve the mystery.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Thanks folks for the responses. This all comes from inexperience- I never ordered a car “ahead of release”. And again all this videos I see are for the 25s lol. Really makes me think there’s a massive push from all dealers.

As for paper work, yea I signed “something”, I’ll try to see what it was.

Anybody have some insider information for the delivery date for the 26s? No1 seems to have them yet.

Hi Iwantmy. First … Nothing you have described so far is necessarily unusual or out of the ordinary. There is always a “push” to sell remaining model year vehicle stock before the newer model year vehicles begin to arrive.
That is one of the purposes of rebates/incentives etc. We just need to say (possibly repeatedly😉) “No thank you, I want to order a new one.”

Next … I have not seen any information stating that the Order Bank is open for the 2026 Nautilus. So I am not sure if it is or not. And if the 2026 Order Bank is not open, then the dealership can not place an order yet. All they can do is hold your “order” until the Order Bank is opened.

If that is the case, you should be happy that the dealership has not placed a $2,000 deposit/hold on your credit card. There should be no deposit/hold until an official order has been placed.

And at that time, you should be sure to receive a copy of the “VOC” previously mentioned. That would be your proof that an order was placed.

There are a few Lincoln/Ford salespeople here on the Lincoln Forum, so perhaps one of them will have more information as to whether the 2026 Order Bank is open. If it is, ask your salesperson for your VOC. If it is not, then it will be necessary to wait a bit longer until we know the Order Bank has opened.

In the meantime, if the Order Bank is not open yet, be happy there is no $2,000 hold on your credit card for a vehicle which can not and/or has not been ordered yet.

I’m sure others will still jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.

First ship of 26s left China end of August. Dealers closest to West Coast should start to see arrival mid October.

Thank you folks. I blame the Lincoln website for even putting the 2026 option up so early.

I’ll hold tight.

What do the 2026 models have that you can’t get in a 2025?

From what I can see from the Lincoln dealer order forms the only difference is really just change in exterior paint and color options. There are a few very useless dealer Installed options such as a first aid kit, sunshade for the front windshield. As supposedly 2027 is a mid life redo , 2026 really just carry over from 2025.

Such a confusing thread. Op says he has one ordered. Signed something but has no idea what that was. Gave a deposit on what exactly? Doesn't know? Then says he's gonna hold tight?

Iwantmy2026nautilus tell me the specs on your order. Specifically.

As of right now nationwide there are 3059 2026 Nautilus' with 1117 of those being in transit one point or another and the rest at the plant. As mentioned above they should begin to arrive shortly. Ours will be in second week of October.

I got information that 2026 has the better blue cruise. It would erk me to get a 2025 knowing it was weeks away. Even if the 2025s can be upgraded it still not 1.5 (which means 26s can be upgraded even more). Also 26s seem to cost the exact same price (im paying near time cash) so financial wise it makes no difference.

I had pictured being in it since early September due to the website thinking it was available then.

I thought ordering would mean the deposit would go thru but it didn’t - that’s why it’s confusing.

No dealer on the east coast has one - that’s why it’s confusing (I can’t go anywhere else)

Sorry to spread the confusion around. Last time I bought a car it was on the lot and ready to go.

The order - black reserve 2. But it has the other 21” rims.

2026 have version 1.5 Blue Cruise, different cameras , hardware and software vs. 2025.

To original OP, when you ordered did you pay sticker price?

Yes, I suppose, the sheet of paper was practically print out of the summary you see from the online build.

But here’s an update:

I’m just going with what’s on the first lot. Not my first choice, but something I think I’ll be happy with. So that should cut the time. (@68k).

Also(!) I saw one dealer near me say they have some “on lot”, and my dealer has exactly 1… dunno if either claim is correct, but I might bug my salesman guy soon to see if they came in.
