My Lincoln
2017 MKZ 3.0T
My 2017 MKZ 3.0 AWD is dripping oil on my garage floor. My local shop recommended changing the oil pan out to a metal one at the cost of $1,250!
Can the original pan be sealed without replacement?

Where on the pan is the leak?
The drain plug?
The mating surface to the block?

Action

I've not tried to search on this issue but remember multiple reports of this over time on this forum, one of the short list items I was looking at in my search for one of these. In my case the car I wound up buying had an aluminum oil pan, with no record of such at Ford.

I'd say when I saw that the money about caught fire on the way out of my pocket when I saw it but the deal didn't work like that.

I have wound up with other concerns but on that front I only worry about ongoing replacement drain plug and gasket parts.

Best,
- Jeff

Action, I'll have to crawl under the car to check that, I'll report back.
Thanks,
Steve
