My Lincoln
2023 Corsair Res III
Hello, everybody!

My OEM Continentals are almost “gone” after 40k miles.

Which of these would you recommend?
  • Michelin CrossClimate 2
  • Vredestein Quatrac Pro+
  • Firestone Firehawk V2
  • Pirelli P Zero AS 3

Things that matter to me:
  • Handling in all conditions
  • Comfort (especially noise)
  • Decent snow performance (I live in the Midwest now)
  • Overall value
The OEM Continentals were quiet and overall fine, but they wore out very quickly.
They have that noise-canceling foam, and I think that of the ones listed above only Pirellis have it.

My go-to tires are either Michelin or Cooper. I've had excellent service from both. Which I would buy depends on the deal and the dealer.

Thanks!

And then there is Goodyear Assurance Weatheractive 2.
I had Michelins on several cars. Always good. But they were summer tires. Quiet, safe, low rolling resistance.
Wondering about those CrossClimate 2's. Corsair is a quiet car. Will those tires damage that image?

I would go with the CrossClimate2 because:

1) I like the CC1 I have on my Acura MDX.

2) If I recall correctly, Consumer Reports ranks CC2 as #1 in their category.

3) I only buy tires at Costco; besides Michelin, they carry Pirelli, Firestone & a few others but Michelin & Bridgestone are their main brands.

I completely forgot Costco does tires w/ free installation.
Will go that route.

UPDATE: Ordered and scheduled. CrossClimate 2 @ Costco.

First impressions of my new Michelin CrossClimate 2s are very positive.
There is a very faint tire hum, but it’s dramatically quieter than my OEM Continentals at 40k miles, which had become loud on bad pavement (typical for Midwest.)
The CrossClimate 2s handle bumps and road imperfections much better—less noise, no cabin reverberation, and an overall softer, more refined feel.
My biggest concern was road noise. So far, at least when new, these tires deliver noticeably more comfort, feel sharper, and inspire a greater sense of safety.

Good to hear, they are at the top of my list when replacement time comes.

Interesting ... we bought a set of CrossClimates for our son's MINI Cooper at Costco and they have been a magnet for nails and screws!! In the past 18 months that there have been on the Mini, 3 out of the 4 tires have needed to be patched. I've beed driving for 59 years and have never seen tires attract problems like these have!!

Otherwise, they are fine!! :)

Ken
