NOT Happy with Lincoln/Ford Accessories Dept.

Placed an order for a trailer hitch for my 2024 Corsair, which I need to find a solution for now sooner rather than later. Item was in stock and was advertised as shipping to my selected dealer within a week of placing the order.

Then, nothing. For over a month.

Had to eventually take my car in for service, asking about the order I placed. Only then did I discover the order had been backordered. Was never notified from Lincoln/Ford directly and only found out because I asked my dealer.

This morning, I received an email telling me the order was cancelled. I of course called Lincoln and they basically said there was nothing they could do because the item was backordered and they had to cancel the order.

Wondering if anyone here has had similar issues and was able to get something figured out.

From what I see online, your local U-Haul franchise may be a convenient location to source the parts and labor required. I imagine they have more experience, better pricing, and more prompt scheduling for this work than the dealer.

When our 2023 GT was rear ended in Dec last year, the factory installed hitch was cracked. I went to the body shop owned by my Lincoln dealer. They also had to wait for a backorder on the hitch. I can't understand why they can't seem to keep these in stock. It did eventually come in (I can't recall how long we waited). Unfortunately it meant 2 rounds in the body shop and two rental cars for the repair.
