My Lincoln
1977 Mark V & 1987 Town Car
Hello everyone, I'm a new member here. I have always loved my Lincolns and now have bought a 1977 Continental Mark V that I need advice on how to replace the right front turn signal lens. Mine is cracked and faded, I ordered an NOS to replace it with but I have no idea on how to remove the old one from the car so I can replace it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I believe that lens is held in by the chrome trim. The lamp assembly has to be removed to access the fasteners for the trim.
To remove the assembly, you will need to get behind the lamp assembly and engage nuts. It is an awkward procedure reaching up from under the vehicle.

Obtaining a shop manual set would be prudent, as well.

Up from under the vehicle is the one thing I haven't tried yet. Go figure. I've had the battery out, nothing. I've tried seeing if I can get to it through the headlight, nope. Thank you for the advice.

You can access the lamp either from underneath or through the opening between the headlights and the fender support rail (see pic), Remove bulb socket (1/4 turn CCW), then the retaining nuts. I imagine you paid a pretty price for NOS, so you might want to add a little protection, I added door edge trim to the front of the lamp since this is where most damage occurs (see pic).
