My Lincoln
2025 Aviator
I purchased a new Lincoln Aviator last Tuesday. They realized it had a recall after we had made the deal and said they would get it taken care the next day. Its been over a week now and they are still trying to get it fixed. The recall is 25C42. Has anyone else had issues with this? Thank you

What specifically did they tell you? Do they have the replacement body control module for that recall and having problems with replacing it OR are they waiting on the part? Apparently that recall is for the BCM fault sometimes leading to trailer lights not illuminating while towing….so it’s only in that specific situation that this will be a problem. So…if you are not towing, no immediate worries. I say that because if the hold up is them trying to get the replacement body control module, why not drive/use your new Aviator until parts are available and they are ready to complete the recall?

They have replaced the module but it doesn't pass the test for completion. They say they can't release the vehicle with an active recall on it. Unfortunately, if we had known it would be like this we would have not purchased this particular one. Here is the recall:

On your vehicle, electronic components on the printed circuit board of the body control module c-bcmc- may have been improperly soldered. As a result, when a trailer is connected to the vehicle and the vehicles trailer tow electrical connector is utilized, the trailers taillamps may not illuminate as intended. You may receive a trailer error message in your vehicles instrument panel cluster when connecting a trailer. Additionally, you may experience inoperative power window-mirror switches or the vehicles air conditioning system blowing warm air. You may also experience operability issues with your vehicles dcac inverter, glove box light, vanity lights or dome lamps, alarm portion of the horn, rear defroster, usb chargers, andor 12 v power points.

Yikes - well those other potential systems would make it a must do. I really thought it just involved trailer lights, and figured it could be postponed. However, now that they have it in and are running into issues, well that’s another matter. Do the have any idea why it wont pass the test or how to remedy? Any chance the replacement module is faulty?

I wish I had some sage advice. I don’t. :( I hope they figure it out asap for you. What a bummer with a new purchase.
