New air bags, new compressor, still no function

Well, I ordered new air bags, took a long time to get here. In the meantime, my compressor finally stopped trying to air up the leaking ones; 100% my fault for not disabling the air system, I should have just taken it off the road. "Air Suspension" showed up in the DIC. New bags came in (two weeks after ordering), replaced those (really wasn't bad), and then replaced the compressor (also Chinese knock-off). After getting everything back together, turning on the trunk switch, reconnecting the battery (I'd disconnected while I replaced the air compressor about 30 minutes); it still won't turn on. I'm going to put it on a lift, and bring it up to "ride height" to see if that will trick the system into working.

Am I missing something? I've checked both the fuse in the passenger compartment and under hood, both fine. I haven't pulled the new compressor yet to jumper and check function. Appreciate any ideas.

You should be able to unplug the compressor and jump battery power and ground directly to the compressor motor to test that the compressor runs without removal of the compressor. You also may want to check the suspension relay?

You may want to check if the compressor relay is or is not coming on...

Thank you folks. I'm going to try and grab a few minutes this evening to check compressor and relay function. Is a dealer capable of pulling "codes" or identifying which part is not sending signal? I have one down the street, but you have to tell them exactly what you want (especially on an "antique").

A dealer should be able to scan for any DTCs including any related to the air suspension.

Holy moleym it was so simple. Just to update the thread...

My compressor tested fine. Before I put it on the lift, I decided to take it to the dealer and have them pull codes. Tech hooked it up, codes 1726, 1790. Out of curiosity, the guy put it on the lift and took a look. I guess in my struggle to remove, the retaining clip got cracked. When reassembling, it didn't fully seat. Guy unplugged, pushed it back together and bang; system is back alive.

I do have a cracked clip to secure somehow, but I'm thinking a little zip tie will solve that. For now, my el cheapo chinese bags and compressor are working fine. So nice to have it back on the road.
