My town car started running rough. I thought it was the intake manifold but it ended up being the valve on cylinder 7 dropped and the piston banged into it bending the valve and breaking the spark plug. Now I need an engine.
Does anyone know where I can get a decent engine? I checked car parts but most of them are high mileage.

LKQ recycling.
They are nationwide.
As to mileage, (without listing the year of your Town Car) the newest Town Car is 15 years old.

BTW, depending on how much work you are going to do the job, the year will be important.
Short Block
(bare) Long Block
Or complete engine

If a complete engine with electronics then you may need to get the exact year.
If less than a complete engine, the choices are greater.
This is because some electronics are model year specific.

Thought I put that on the post, it's a 2011 town car. I need a complete engine. Minus accessories, water pump etc.

The donor is a 2002 to 2011 Town Car. Most wrecking yards including LKQ will have that data.
LKQ may have a warranty for a short time.
Not sure who is doing the work and the critical factor are the engine control pieces. They have to be the same or from YOUR current vehicle.
The engine controls are not the same for each 4.6l. Heck, they may not be the same from year to year with the same model with the same engine.
And it is the engine controls that make the engine perform.

Good luck with your search.

I bought an engine from them and it was a good experience.

LKQ engine is installed. We had to do a bunch of stuff to it to get the warranty. It runs great. My car has 142k miles and the engine is 76k. So hopefully it'll last years.
