My Lincoln
1997 Town Car
Well, I was at an estate sale and saw a 97 Town Car Executive for $2200. Looked great. Estate company said 170000mls but it was 170000kms. Pressed the E/M button so now it has 106000 miles :)

It's in great shape. It's got a few scrapes, but absolutely NO dings or dents, and great interior. It has all the service history. According to service history it was driven a little more than 1000 miles since 2017. And oil looks brand new but the windshield sticker says 05/21/2013 and 108000 miles. It needs some love, but I'll get there.

So, I offered $1700. I took it home for $1800. On the way it ran a little rough, but that's to be expected with old fuel. The only light in the rear that works is half of the third brake light. No lights work, haven't tried reverse. Brake lights and tail lights are out. Wondering if it's a flasher problem, and if it is, where is it? Unfortunately, it needs a blend door actuator. That's gonna suck! I will replace the heater core as well because I don't want to take the dash off twice. Last problem that I know of is it needs both rear window motors/regulators. They are cheap, and hopefully fairly simple to fix, so I'll do that soon.

Just posting this mainly as an introduction. Some help with the lights would be appreciated, though 😉👍
Thanks everyone,
Isaac

Welcome to the LOG.

Congrats

You might consider replacing all fluids and filterss no matter what the condition
Air, oil & fuel filter
Engine oil, transmission fluid and wait on coolant until you replace the heater core.

Vehicles that sit for a long time develop issues.
A real good cleaning, treating of interior leather/plastic & rubber
Plus waxing to remove the debris stuck in the paint

Look at the date of the tires (even though the tread may look good) A blown out tire, gives a new defination of a "slammed" Town Car

The flasher location if there is a flasher is shown in the owners manual.
Have no manual. Ebay usually has these listed.

Do check the bulbs first. Not unheard of to have multiple bulbs burned out.

Thanks for the help! Yes, at least the oil needs to be changed. It looks brand new but is from 2013. From service records and such this car has been driven under 4000 miles since 2009. The avg speed was 4 MPH 😂👍. Must've driven it in and out of the garage and that's it.

The tires are from 2011. They look fine and they drive fine, so I'm not really worried about them. But yeah, I don't really want a "slammed" Town Car so we'll see what happens.
