I got a quote from a local shop to tint the front 2 windows to match and wrap the roof. Under $1k, very reasonable I feel.
Will probably get it done early next year, have other priorities currently.

Just make sure the tint doesn't exceed your State's Tint Laws. At least 30% VLT.

You will love the front window tint. We did ours to match the rear windows too. Looks great and the sunny day drives are much more enjoyable!

They likely do, but I've also heard/read that they have used questionable tints to pull over motorists only to find further infractions related to drugs and guns.

100% on this!
There is a town, Chappaqua in Westchester County NY. They have at least 3 window tint detectors employed by the local police. They were required by the Feds to purchase them back in 1999 to check and enforce the window tint laws throughout the town when deemed necessary as applicable to NYS Tint Laws. No guessing required, they have the gear to check your tint.
They do have a legitimate and very valid motive for this, it is not to harass anyone. A notable political family resides within the town, and federal security calls for it.
Every cop knows...whenever they pull someone over for an infraction, they never know what other violations they will come across!

For those of us that are Florida Residents, "Florida Legal" is the ideal compromise when tinting the front side windows. While I haven't installed UF protection ceramic film on my Aviator windshield I have installed the clear version on several of my other vehicles.

Some years ago, a friend in Iowa got pulled over for tinted windows. The IA HWY Patrolman to prove his point about tint, then checked his patrol vehicle which did not have aftermarket tint. Unfortunately for him, the factory glass failed to pass Iowa Tint laws. But... my friend still got a ticket!!

I also have a "Stealth" black top on my Jet Package 23 Aviator.

I agree! Lots of sun in Florida, 35% tint helps much. As you know FLA is an attractive "go to" state for New Yorkers. I have many friends and family who have second homes, or rent a home in both NY and FLA. Many choose drive back & forth via I-95 instead of travelling to & from by air. I occasionally see FLA registered vehicles with dark tints. Even at 35%, (legal in FLA), that exceeds max allowable tint of 30% in New York! So yes, as you point out in your post, tinting varies by state and can get you a ticket out of state!

NYC has a problem with dark tints, poses a great threat to the police. In recent years, I have noticed first hand a sharp decline in heavy tints in the Bronx. I have no doubts it is due to an enforcement crackdown on these vehicles. In theory, a heavily tinted vehicle in NYS is a violation that warrants inspection failure. So, right off the bat, law enforcement is suspicious of dark tints from the get go, as they are in violation of inspection requirements.

I had running boards installed on my 2022 Aviator (see first picture) - my wife loves them! Back in the cargo bay I installed the cargo mat and the bumper protector, both from Weathertech. I had a couple of scratches on the top of my bumper - now they're hidden and future scratches are prevented.

I got them through parts.ford.com, the Ford accessory parts web site. I considered installing them myself but due to other time commitments I had to have the dealer install them. I checked that web site today and the price is ridiculous versus what I paid a couple of years ago. Mine could very well be the Romik running boards, sold through the Ford site. I'm very happy with the look.

I believe they are Romiks! I bought a set for my Nautilus, have not installed them yet. They cost more than a few other competitors, but they make quality products.
I agree...one cannot appreciate the cost of stuff today compared with what we paid for a few years ago, unless you bought that same product back then and see the price of it today!

I am thinking of wrapping or painting the roof black to match the pillars. I have seen only a few online with a black roof and it's pretty awesome.

I made it. I took cardboard and laid out a template for where the platform should rest, then cut a piece of plywood for the platform as well as the forward support piece. The armrests of the seats are an ideal support just a bit lower than the seat back when folded. I simply put a hinge on the forward bottom section to attach another piece of plywood for support, then took it to my local auto upholstery guy to put the carpet and velcro on it.

In time the velcro was not real effective in 'sticking' to the factory carpet on the backs of the folded seats, so my iteration has been to add two more features:
a) a simple latch that holds the support piece more or less at 90 degrees, and
b) use bungee cords underneath attaching small eyes I screwed into the bottom side of the platform to nearby fixed floor pieces like the base of the seat. This way any inertia from a stop with the weight of the dog won't allow the platform to move around.

Good idea. I need to make one for my 2nd roll without center consol.
