Love to see your Aviator especially if you’ve added your personal touches.

I think our Aviator is the most handsome styled SUV out there and would love to scroll through this thread looking at the combinations out there and certainly any candy you’ve added to personalize your ride.

I’ll go first… only thing I’ve added is a ceramic protection inside and out, five year warranty. But I’m still loving the black/alpine contrasting combination.

You can't see it, but we've had the entire front end (including full hood and both front fenders), door sills and rear bumper top surface wrapped in PPF ; ceramic tint on front door windows, and d-i-y ceramic paint protection everywhere else. Too expensive a vehicle to not protect its appearance. We usually keep our vehicles for nine years or more...in the case of this one, at least until the extended warranty expires.

I have a bunch of pics on my iPad and IPhone 13 that are all too big to download. I went to YouTube university and found out how to save them to a file, then convert them to jpeg and reduced them to fit here. Love to see your PPF

No real changes here, just tint. I think that the aviator looks great the way that it comes from the factory. Not much i would change. Pictures were to large to upload.

My pictures were too big to upload too. Went to YouTube university and learned how to save a picture to a file, quick action, save as JPEG, medium size and it fits here. I have Apple Ipad and IPhone.

I made it. I took cardboard and laid out a template for where the platform should rest, then cut a piece of plywood for the platform as well as the forward support piece. The armrests of the seats are an ideal support just a bit lower than the seat back when folded. I simply put a hinge on the forward bottom section to attach another piece of plywood for support, then took it to my local auto upholstery guy to put the carpet and velcro on it.

In time the velcro was not real effective in 'sticking' to the factory carpet on the backs of the folded seats, so my iteration has been to add two more features:
a) a simple latch that holds the support piece more or less at 90 degrees, and
b) use bungee cords underneath attaching small eyes I screwed into the bottom side of the platform to nearby fixed floor pieces like the base of the seat. This way any inertia from a stop with the weight of the dog won't allow the platform to move around.

I cut a 2 foot by 8 foot piece of plywood down to fit across both seats and wrapped it with carpeting to protect the leather seats. We leave the seat backs up so we can put overnight luggage on one side and our Standard Poodle on the other where he has as bed on top of the support. It also keeps Jonah from wandering around the entire area behind the front seats.

Yours is a great deal for 2 big dogs! With our previous 2 Standards, we just filled in the space between the bucket seats ( several different SUV's) but believe your or my methods are much more safe for our 4 legged kids!

You say 'big dogs' - our old gal is only 42 lbs. The two year old is 56 lbs. so she's more in line with not being a lightweight. Some standards can get upwards of 90# or so I understand.

I concur this is good for them. Originally we left the rear seat upright so any gear back there could not come forward in any event. We had a seat cover for the rear seat and the old gal would ofttimes lounge on the rear bench. Now we are able to travel with all gear in the rear lower storage area, the area behind the middle row underneath the rear bench (when it folds down), also between the two middle row seats under the platform, and behind the driver/passenger seats. We throw some decent sized dog pillows back on the now large platform and they lounge as needed. On rare occasion if we need to take more stuff, I simply move it all the way forward on the 'platform' on either side (behind the front seats) or tether it with 1/4" rope on either side to the side latches.

They have a good life!

I just added some air horns to make things a little louder. There's not much room for two horns, a small compressor and a relay, but it ended up a very clean and discreet install.

pics?

I started by removing the large plastic panel in front of the engine compartment so I could see the two original horns down on the passenger side. The is no room for the new horns there, but room enough for the little compressor and relay.
I removed the passenger side wheel and wheel well cover and saw plenty of room inside the front. I made two small aluminum brackets (1 for the horns and 1 for the compressor & relay). I didn't have to drill anything on the car and it's very well hidden. Yes, it's loud. They work in conjunction with the original horns.

I am thinking of wrapping or painting the roof black to match the pillars. I have seen only a few online with a black roof and it's pretty awesome.
Other than that, I can't think of anything I would do to the exterior.Aviator1(sm).webp

I did see one with a black painted roof. As nice as it was, I much prefer the look exactly as you have yours.
The black rails and wheels along with the rest of the black accents on the vehicle provide a sharp contrast to the body and roof.
The look, top to bottom is beautifully balanced and it is perfect in my opinion.

I think contrasting roof colors are pretty awesome! Go for it.

Friend has a 2023 white Navigator with a black top, and black wheels/grille etc.

I got a quote from a local shop to tint the front 2 windows to match and wrap the roof. Under $1k, very reasonable I feel.
Will probably get it done early next year, have other priorities currently.
