Love to see pics of your Nautilus (combinations) especially if you personalized it with some eye candy!

A lot collects under rear fairing.
As an element of humor... The windshield wipers attempted to knock me off my ladder three times as I tried to dry the glass. I learned to get a quick wipe in and stand back as they made a lunge at me. The car saying in a manor of speaking "Get the He** away from here!"

Then the rear gate, which is a huge water retaining item, opened up on me 4 times as I got close enough to dry the more hidden areas. It never made contact but I also had to wait for it to fully open and then fully close each time.

All in all, it was like trying to wash a 5000-pound dog that just did not want to take a bath.

( Yes... I need to shut down the systems before the next wash. ;-) )

Hi gfdublin. Thanks for the laugh! 😂

On a related note, and while you probably know this already: Why are you washing/drying your vehicle with it running (or the ignition turned on)? You can avoid the wiper attack by turning off the vehicle/ignition.
Or, if you need to leave it on for some reason…Turn the wipers off completely instead of leaving them on the rain sensing/interval setting.

Also, you can avoid the tailgate opening by not having the keys within sensing distance of the vehicle (usually >10-20 feet away).

Thanks again for the laugh and good luck. 🍻

wait the tailgate opens automatically? I don't understand. I thought you have to wave your foot under the car? Am I missing something?

Hi Billz. I can’t speak for gfdublin, but I was assuming their foot was accidentally kicking under the rear bumper while they were washing/reaching for the roof etc.

Another possibility I can think of…The hatch button on the remote fob being accidentally pressed while in a pocket and reaching, leaning against the vehicle etc.

I’ve had it happen a few times over the years, with the panic alarm being triggered when the button was accidentally pressed while in my pocket.

Hopefully gfdublin will reply back, in case my assumption is incorrect.

Good luck. 🍻
