- My Lincoln
- 1998 Lincoln Navigator 2x4
My wife and I bought the '98 Navigator last year to carry 3 kids under 4, and tow a trailer in the future. It's in very good condition, has 63k miles, and got it at a good price.
The tailgate and hatch window no longer open - the cable ends are chewed up.
I opened the tailgate, removed the cables, attempted to apply metal cable ends I purchased online (for a more permanent fix), which advertised were for '98 Navigators (among others), and it didn't fit. Now I believe I may need new cables because they were further damaged in trying to put on the cable ends (I haven't worked on cars for far too long).
Does anyone know where to get legitimate cable ends -replacement kit- and/or the cables themselves?
Thank you in advance.
