I have been told by a Lincoln expert that the initial Aviator rollout was plagued with quality issues. As a result there was a major management shakeup at the manufacturing facility. He indicated that vehicles produced after mid-2020 are much improved. I just got my Aviator and have only experienced very minor issues. As a point of comparison, my 2019 German trade-in was loaded with bugs and quality problems, most of which never got resolved. The Aviator is far superior to that vehicle.

"Superiority" is in the eyes of the beholder, but if your measure is QC/fit/finish....some time reviewing YT car factory vids is revealing: Most new car factories are indistinguishable from each other..there's a high robotic content which pretty much guarantees "perfection" in the touch and sight points that most people notice.

There are a lot of reasons to choose one brand or model over another, but the old chestnut that imports are "naturally" superior is just plain wrong.
