Lazy fuel gauge

Hi WhiskeyJack. Are you turning off the engine and ignition when you are refueling, and not turning either back on until you are finished?

If not, that could be the problem.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I turn off the ignition while refueling.

When it goes up, does it do so in one big move or a series of smaller moves? What happens if you pull the battery cable when filling? Trying to determine if it's an electrical problem or a slugging float in the tank.
