So, ever since I got my Corsair back from repair I had to reset some things. It was strange that my garage door opener needed to be reset but my SiriusXM favorites were still all in place.

Anyhow, the one thing that is giving me a problem, I think, is MYKEY

The phone is not communicating with the vehicle. Well, it is when you want to turn it on remotely. However, to use it as a key it does not seem to work (though it does ask for a password and when you enter it then it works).

The screenshot I have included shows that BLUETOOTH is not communicating. I went into Bluetooth and tried to connect the vehicle but it keeps denying it.

So, I think the best thing to do is to erase MYKEY and create a new one, that is, unless you guys think it's working based on the info. I provided.

I can't figure out how to do that and I hate the vehicle manual so don't ask me to look at it.

In the vehicle settings (infotainment screen) it shows 2 ADMIN keys were made but 0 personal. Not sure what that means.

I don't see a reset anywhere. Some Lincoln vehicles have MYKEY in the dash settings. I don't see it there.

Is it possible that you are referring to Phone-as-a-Key (PaaK) rather than the (completely different) MyKey?

Here are Lincoln's instructions for MyKey. Mine stopped working after a sync update so I called the number (found inside the app) and they walked me through removing the key and re-adding.

Oh, very possible. It sounds so similar.
My Key is different. That is where you set parameters for other drivers, maybe kids. PAAK is the remote functions on your Lincoln Way app.

Okay, how about resetting using your phone as a key?

The BLUETOOTH connection on the app remains disconnected

The reset for a non-cooperative PaaK isn't that hard to do, but it is fairly detailed. I could list out all of the steps to do on your phone, and in SYNC 3, as I've done it probably 10 times on my Corsair for both my and my wife's phone.

However, doing this sort of operation would be *very* much less frustrating if you just let the Lincoln Concierge guide you through the steps of removing your existing PaaK and re-establishing the connection to your car.

They've done this many, many time for customers and will be able to take you through it in a real-time fashion.

One thing I will tell you, that they may miss, is to be sure to reassociate your phone with your vehicle profile, so that when you walk up and touch the door-handle (with your phone in hand, instead of your keys) the car will correctly select your profile rather than that of some other driver in the family.

This is also easily done, and they can walk you through it.

It's free. Just do it.

I'll call the Lincoln Concierge tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

Actually, call the Lincoln Way app support through the app itself. The Concierge will merely transfer you to them. But, they are very good and will walk you through it.

I’m curious, my MyLincoln app doesn’t have the ability to put the windows up/down or horn/lights or open the trunk from the app. Is that a Reserve thing? I have a base model but with just about all the available options in it.

Do you see greyed out icons for these actions or none at all? Mine are gray if I'm out of bluetooth range (or intentionally disable bluetooth fearing my phone will keep poking my car to wake when I walk by the garage up only to drain the 12V battery then pretend to go to sleep refusing to acknowledge me - sort of like someone else I know. I've said too much...

Nope. Not at all.

Yours is not showing options for Windows, Horns & Lights, and Trunk.
Yep, that’s what I’m trying to figure out, if that’s because I have a base model, or another reason.

I don't see anything about this app being dependent on model options, but requires "Lincoln Connect". This requirement is listed on the app description for controlling windows and door locks:

(1) Lincoln Connect, standard on select vehicles, and complimentary Lincoln Connect Service are required for remote features (see Lincoln Way Terms for details). Connected Service and features depend on compatible cellular network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Lincoln Connect Service excludes Bell Wi-Fi hot spot. Certain restrictions, 3rd-party terms or message/data rates may apply.

Do you have it listed on your window sticker? See this.

I'd suggest making sure location settings on your phone are enabled for the app, then perhaps removing and reinstalling. Some guidance here, or call 800-521-4140 to have them walk you through the steps to remove and reinstall.

Thanks, Pabald. I am going to just call a concierge tomorrow. I am tired of trying to figure out these complex connection issues that should be a little more intuitive.

As mentioned above:

Phone As A Key (PAAK) is for being able to use your phone as a key.

MyKey is to limit some of the vehicle features to whoever holds that key. For example, a teen driver you can limit their speed, stereo volume, or limit what they can listen to on SiriusXM (e.g. explicit content). You should have 2 Admin keys by default..the ones that came originally with the vehicle. You can then switch one (or add more keys) to be MyKey enabled.

Perhaps something got disconnected and corrupted when things were either being diagnosed or fixed. In any case, this is what I found in the manual for removing your PAAK - doing so also means wiping out your password to start your Corsair without anything present.:

If the Phone as a Key belongs to your account, you can delete it from your phone. If not, reset Phone as a Key using the following steps:

1. Press Settings on the touchscreen.
2. Press General.
3. Press Reset.
4. Press Lincoln Way Connect Reset.
5. Press Reset All.
6. Confirm you would like to continue with erasing all Phone as a Key, Backup Start Passcodes.
7. Press Continue.
8. Confirm you are aware you are de-authorizing all authorized users and Lincoln Way Connect settings.
9. Press Continue.

Note: Please wait while the vehicle resets all the Phone as a Key, Backup Start Passcodes, Lincoln Way Connect Settings and de-authorize previously authorized users.

So I just got off a chat with Lincoln concierge, and yes, for what ever reason, Lincoln decided to only include the ability for the app to be able to roll windows up/down, open the hatch, and flash lights/horn you have to have the Phone As A Key, which is included in the technology package, that I guess I don’t have. Which if you think about it, is kind of ridiculous.

Maybe people who buy that package would find it ridiculous for others to have that feature.

Man, some of the gripes are funny. If you are in business, what is wrong with enticing people to buy something that adds MORE features? Next time, get the technology package.
