I have a new 2022 Corsair GT that makes lots of cabin noise. Our local dealer does not have another GT to compare my readings. They tested our car and a 2022 Reserve model and found the GT has sound levels 10 to 20 times as loud as the Reserve. See the chart below. They checked and the ANC and all sound proofing materials are in place. They would like to get some more data to pursue this further.

Test Results
2022 Corsair GT gas engine - 76-80dB
2022 Corsair Reserve - 60-63dB
2021 Corsair Reserve - 61-63dB
2020 Corsair Reserve - 60-63dB

You can download the free app from the Apple store called NIOSH SLM.

Run Test at 40mph, both ways on the same road. Hold the phone near your ear level height - elbow on console, use cruise control to steady your speed and have the radio and heater/AC off. On the GT note results for both gas engine and electric engine. I have been using the demo Reserve and it is very noticeable how much quieter it is then our GT. Thanks so much for your help! Blessings, Kevin

What road are you on? What tires do you have? I get a LOT of wind noise, but i chalk that up to my wind shields thingies. Its louder since I put them on. Not the same as a road noise.

I added dynamat to the hood of my ‘21 GT. Then reinstalled the factory liner.
My wife asked me why I was doing this “project” & I told her that I read that the engine was too loud.
Oh well.

Can't download that particular app because I'm Android only. But the Atkinson cycle engine in my GT sounds eerily similar to the distinctive sound of the boxer engine in a Subaru which was my last vehicle. Wouldn't object if it was a little quieter, but it's not intrusive to me. On electric power this GT is quiet as a church mouse with no squeaks, rattles or excessive wind noise that shouldn't be there---not yet anyway and hopefully never. Time will tell. Just some observations here from an old dude who so far is very happy with his purchase. :)

Kevin, I hope that you are able to resolve the noise issues with your GT one way or another to your satisfaction! In my case, having hearing that probably isn't as sharp as it used to be might be a factor.

Let us know if this helps to lower engine noise. I was thinking of doing the same thing.

The GT is loud. No doubt about that. I'll try to download the app and give a test result later in the next week.
Loud at HIGHEST rev? Like going up a mountain, fully loaded? HELL YEA lol. When its just me, with the radio off, its not that loud. I ease off the gas when i hear it lol. Try to stay in hybrid mode lol

Exactly! I haven't driven a Corsair GT, but I have owned several Toyota Hybrids, and YES the engines are loud under anything above moderate acceleration. I'm not sure why, if it has something to do with the Atkinson cycle engine, or the lack of sound deadening due to weight reduction for better MPG.

My current '22 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Platinum (top of line) is quite loud when accelerating briskly, then it quiets down nicely under cruising. I still don't like the car, however.

damn. hate that you still dont like it. I crossed the Highlander, Explorer, Q5, GLC, and a few others. Just couldnt get the same combination of luxury and technology for the same or equitable price. X5 was a mess too.

It says a lot when I don't like 37 MPG (overall) in today's gas price environment.

I have a RDX Advance "on order". They told me it was built Feb 22 and would be here between March 13 and March 18.. Yesterday, I called to get an update, and they said, "it has ben delayed a bit. Now due mid April" When I pushed for more info, they said "It is supposed to be built in two days!" Complete BS! I am so frustrated. I'm not even driving the Highlander except when I have to (ex: My wife has the CR-V at work! It IS her car) I would rather drive the 2020 CRV Touring than the Highlander.

End rant.

Fyi - This was at constant 40mph today in “excite” mode. Road conditions made difference too, had a couple readings @ 58 range.

My tires are the 20"option. My test driving was on a level asphalt road, there was no wind blowing. Drive mode selection was "Normal" with the engine running. In cruise control constant 40mph speed.

Wow, even lower than the Corsair Reserve. If I could get a few more GT data points, I can go back to my dealer with proof that the top of line Corsair should not be really loud!
Thanks for your testing....

Mine also has 20” wheels.
Full disclosure, I added dynamat sound proofing on my engine hood (see earlier post) - maybe that’s helping to make some difference as well.

I was so pleased with the sound (actually lack of) after doing the front hood, I went ahead & placed dynamat underneath where the spare tire is around the battery area.

Where do you get this dynamat? I have never heard of it before? Thanks!

In a strange twist, I put a refundable deposit on an incoming (almost loaded, doesn't have the 20" wheels that I didn't want anyway) FWD '22 Reserve in Asher Gray/Sandstone yesterday. MSRP, no required dealer add-ons. It is currently in the rail yard in Chicago, due to arrive at the Black Label dealer in Mesa, AZ (100 miles away) on April 1 or 2.

HBcorsair - This could be the key to reducing the noise. How many square feet did you need for the hood and additionally the spare tire well? Thanks!

Like everything :Amazon. There’s also the Crutchfield website that also has articles on sound deadening stuff if you’re interested. Below is the dynamat site.
Good luck 👍🏻
