I bought a Lincoln 2012 MKZ Hybrid new. It now has issue with the headliner hanging loose in the rear by back window. I am not referring to the fabric sagging, it is the entire headliner itself that is loose from the roof of the car in the back.

I have seen on other forums diagram of Ford Fusion/Lincoln MKZ referencing part # for the ribbed push-pins to secure headliner to roof. But unlike the Fusion, the MKZ does NOT have those push pins visible - it is all smooth fabric with no bumps or indentations.

I tried pushing the headliner back up (forcefully) but no luck. I am seeking advice from the folks here. Otherwise, my current options are:

(1) Use velcro patches (or even Liquid Nail) to "adhere" the headliner back to the roof.

(2) Figure out where the push pins are (allegedly), punch hole in fabric (or drill through headliner) and install with new push pins. (unlikely)

(3) Pay to have entire headliner replaced (quoted by Dealer to be $1,850) --- I don't think so...

(4) Leave it, learn to live with it.

ANY IDEAS??

Have same problem, help!

Hi guys. Just some opinions/thoughts: If you can not locate any possible pushpins, you can try the adhesive method. It probably will not look factory fresh, but it will be less expensive than $1,850.
Alternately, you can try stopping by a reputable body shop in your area and getting an estimate and/or asking them for advice on how to do it yourself.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
