Make sure thats not water by drinking plenty of water. The average person will lose about 2.5 pounds a week max. You want that to be fat and not muscle. Aim for 8 to 10lbs a month..

I\'m sure its mostly water right now. I\'m just now getting into drinking water...I hate the stuff but have learned to adapt to it.

All of it was water weight initally. I can drop 6-7 pounds in a day easily. Its all water weight. Your body has a current ammount of fat, muscle/tendons/tissue/etc, and bone. The general rule is you have to burn 3K to 3.5K calories to lose a pound of fat. Which is why the only safe and longterm way to lose fat is to reduce your calories below what your body needs, and exercise. Sure you can cut fat faster then 1 to 2 pounds a week, but your talking a huge deficit in the number of calories your body needs. When you need 3,500 calories a day and your intaking 1,500 sure you will drop weight faster, but its going to f$%k you up bad. Not to mention your going to lose muscle bad when you cut calories bad.

If you look at sumo wrestlers, they have high body fat percentages, but the fat is stored in a way that they can easily use it for energy when needed. Completely different from average people. Right now I am falling in the big mother f$%ker category, b/f is up to a winter ready 27%. However now that I am training well again it will likely drop down to the low 20s by may. Even at a 20% bf I will still weigh 260, my goal is to be at 18% by june. I have a lot of strongman/powerlifting events comming up so that might make it hard. The lightest I will be next year is 260, it would be damn near impossible to drop below that unless I were to either be at 10% bf or lose muscle.

You were probably cutting to bad, and not eating enough quality foods. Figure out what you really need to eat in a day as far as calories goes. At 230/240 I would try to eat 3K calories a day depending on activity level. That also depends on your b/f percentage. I would start at 3K a day with 40% of that from protein, and then I would add some extra exercise in it. If your not losing a steady 2 lb a week while keeping your strength/muscle tone, then cut 200 calories out a day. Pretty soon you will find a sweet spot that will work. You shouldn\'t feel fatigued, or run down. You should still have plenty of energy. Also that sweet spot will change every week in the small scale, and every month on the large scale. You should easily be able to get to 180 to 190 in 6 months. Without almost killing your body in the process.

Ok, you could drop to 180 no problem.

Weight to me is really insignificant since I am close to 300 and I work with my body weight + in deadlifts. My mind is so screwed when it comes to heavy. Since I will never be below 250, and most of the guys I lift with are in the 270s, pretty much everyone I know outside of lifting is a light weight. I can run better/go up stairs better/lift anything better at almost 300 then when I was lighter.

yeah, 200 is my goal. b4 my wedding i got to a \"nice\" 200. now im a big guy.
basically, the heaviest i\'ve ever been was in the pics of me n Patrick when he was born.

thing is, i carry my weight differently than most people, so when i tell them how much i weigh they dont believe me, they say i look lighter than what i am.

Most people can\'t tell a 170 pound person from a 220 pound person unless they are the same height and standing right next to one another. I normally get pinned at 240/250, because people can\'t fathom almost 300.

i watch shows like \"the biggest loser\" and i see guys that are taller than me, weigh the same, and im like \"wtf, im not that BIG\" lol. of course muscle weighs more than fat, so that makes sense, i just have fat covering my muscle haha

It depends on where the fat is stored. Take sumo wrestlers for example. In public they would pass as being really fat, when the reality is their fat is not hidden inside the body, and they could have lower fat % then a guy thats smaller then them. They also have a huge ammount of muscle, since most of them train 4 hours in the morning on an empty stomach.
