on the other hand....Websters On-Line Dictionary\'s definition of \"spelt\";

1. Hardy wheat grown mostly in Europe for livestock feed.

in this case, \"spelt\" could actually become :bs:....something we are more accustomed to getting from DaBoss;)

i thought \'spelled\' WAS the past tense of \'spell\'. you mean there are words that have a \'past tense\' version of the \'past tense\' WORD? i still think that \'spelt\' is a slang word. there are some instances when the past tense of a verb, such as \'deal\' isn\'t \'dealed\', it is \'dealt\'. i have NEVER in my now FIFTY TWO YEARS heard the \"word\" \'spelt\'!

does it have anything to do with April and Jackalopes? only THEN it would make sense......:freak:

Like the word \"aint\". It IS a contraction of \"am not\" but its considered slang and teachers hate it.

And it says in the definition its a \"past tense\" of spell. :dunno:

sorry , repost ignore this post

Thats b/c just like \"dealt\" is the past tense of a verb, \"spelt\" is the past tense when \"spell\" is used as a verb.

English is a whacked up language. :freak:
