Ok Im a littled p.o\'d right now. A friend of mine who rescues and takes in dogs, applied to a KIll Shelter for a Pit Bull. She lives on 4 acres and is capable of taking care of this dog woth no problem. She applied, did a personal test/survey and got an email back stating she was denied. Why? Because shes a lesbian!

Heres my response to the friend concerning this:

You have GOT to be kidding me! So here you are being a loving, compassionate person and wanting to take a dog out of a less than \"harmonious\" situation and youre denied because of your sexual preference?! Your sexual preference which has NOT A DAMN thing to do with a DOG! This dog, which probably will wait a while to be adopted because of its breed, has to suffer because because his/her other owner doesnt piss standing up? Which brings me to another point. This dog, being a Pit Bull already has enough prejudices against it now because of its breed. People ignorantly listen to all the NEGATIVE media attention given to them instead of seeing that ALL dogs are capable of certain types of behavior. JUST. LIKE. HOMOSEXUALS. AND. HETEROSEXUALS! Hmmmmmm


Sorry I rambled a bit but that PISSED me off! Ignorant, one sided, narrow minded, power playing, manipulating, STRAIGHT people! ARGH!

Im really upset at this and it didnt happen to me. But...it very well could have. WTF does who I sleep with have to do with raising/rescuing a dog?! Is there some advancement in canine intelligence that would make them know the difference and I missed it?!

Eh...the friend and myself made a boo boo. The way the friend explained it and then showed the email...it LOOKED like it was about humans. Got a letter from the president of this place...saying it wasnt. :ashamed:

Yeah. I mean it did not surprise me IF it was meant towards humans but now it makes sense knowing a Pits temperment.

I mean Ive had a guy show us a house, an all over tour of the place, what he expected from tenants and so on and so forth. Got ready to talk about the lease and he asked if me and Renee were sisters...told him \"not exactly\" and he asked if we were related somehow. He finally got the message and denied us living there. So none of this would have surprised me...we just jumped the gun on this one. It happens. :dunno:
