Ive been in and out of the house all day. I had a bad weekend and it got even better when I got up this morning.

You want conversations and humor?
I went to a wedding on Saturday, didn\'t get back until 3:30am Sunday, slept to about noon Sunday... Spent Sunday sneezing and stuffy until I took some benadryl that put me out at about 8:30 (which was fine, since I had to be UP again at 6am) to drive down to Joe Robbie Stadium to be a rigger on The Police concert... It\'s steamy hot on the field, even at 8:00am, and the fool head rigger says he doesn\'t want me on as a rigger, b/c he\'s never seen me before. :wtf: And that\'s a reason to prevent me from earning another $2 per hour? Maybe you don\'t know me b/c they NEVER call me for Miami calls, and the last time I WAS on a Miami gig was 2 years ago before I started rigging! :rant:
So I go from a reasonably-short-day-with-higher-pay to a stupid-long-day-pushing REALLY-heavy-crap-for-an-equally-crap-rate. I pulled myself off after 4 hours, said screw that.
Went and got 4 new shoes for the Jetta... $345 worth of pain. yeeouch. So now I\'m home trying to relax before going up to Jupiter tomorrow for 7am again, but this time I know what the gig is, and I\'m getting a better gig (non union gig) for the same basic money. The union down here has totally lost my respect with the way they are treating the labor. These rates are a real insult, and according to some of the guys, 3 of the theatres that HAD been holding the rates up for the rest of the area... Are about to renegotiate, and the word is that the Miami rates will drop, which will depress rates in Broward and Palm Beach as a ripple result. Oh goody. :rant: How much lower than $15.65 can the rates go? Even a rigger or a fork operator (both higher-skill positions) aren\'t much higher, and they will drop at the same rate as the basic rate.
Savannah pays about double that now, and it\'s cheaper to live up there... And Atlanta has stupid amounts of work usually, at the same better rates. Florida really is becoming a cesspool. I want out.
Can we special-order a hurricane to demolish our house this year so we can leave?

Sorry, my boss kept coming downstairs to sit and stare at me. He\'ll be gone for the most of the next 3 weeks (thank GOD!). So I wont be stared at by him for a while. I will be more free to post whore if he\'s not sitting there. I will have work to do though, as we have to get ready for orientation and shit, so I have to do it all because he\'s gone. Anyway. I\'ll try to be more entertaining tomorrow!
