Not work related, But sucky anyhow.
John and I took in my nephew back in May. He had been in the Hershey School ( a private school -started by Milton Hershey for poor inner city kids). He wasn\'t getting along very well - good grades but couldn\'t deal with the house parents.
His father (my brother) is blind (another really interesting story), and lives with his insane wife and mentally retarded step daughter in a one bedroom aparment. The wife doesnt care for the son (Sean)
Sean came to live with us. He is 15. Hasn\'t heard from his Mother (also Blind) and living with his her boyfriend about 50 miles from us, since Christmas of 2004. Suddenly, Sunday afternoon, the mom\'s boyfriend calls and then The mom gets on the phone, stoned, and then talks me into taking Sean up to see her.
I drive him up ( oh to top it off, I start off with 3/4 of a tank of gas...) and she is stoned, naked and passed out. We wake her up tell the boyfreind were taking her for a ride, and take her to get some coffee.
I decided to come back home (4 other kids) and bring the mom, I\'d take her back later. She looked totally fucked up, so I decided to be a caring sis in law I decided to take her to a hospital. She needed health care as lwell as detox.
Basicly she spent the night in the ER, tried for detox got denied for admission (me sitting next to her the whole time) insurance problems then timing problems , then she satrted to sober, and I proceeded to listen to her complain how everyone hates her man....she doesn\'t want to change ...she want to go home....she loves her man....THREE HOURS OF EVERYTHING OTHE THAN CARING ABOUT HER SON!!!!!! I asked her straiht up \"what about Sean? She says\"I don\'t know.\"
This shocked the shit out of me. I have never met anyone who didn\'t give a shit about their child.
While in the Er the doctor said her alcohol level was 300. 5 times the DUi level. She should have been in a coma. This was 5 hours after she had any alcohol. She should have been dead. DIdn\'t care.
I took her home and told her if she couldn\'t straighten up, don\'t call her son, or I will kill her. It is breaking him up. He has so many opppertunities here with us. He is smart, talented and all fucked up because of this bitch.
He \'s a sophmore in HS, and palying varisity and JV football. He has already earned a scholarship to Drexel, and has been doing great up until now.
How do I keep him for feeling that he is worthless because his mom could care less about him. How does a 15 year old understand\\?

WOW! you are in a very good situation to make a huge difference in your newphew\'s life. 15 is the age where us boys need a goooood role model to talk to us.
when i was 15, i was rebuilding engines with my dad, he gave me something to do so i didnt get into trouble. Mr. Oldschool should bring him into his Lincoln ring

He would love that, He really likes cars. He\'s taking Drafting to learn how to design cars.He loves classic cars too.
I just hope that we can give him what he need right now. I know that 15 year olds need extra love and care, given with kid gloves. Weve had 2 others. But thihs situation scares me.
