Hello im looking to change my tire size on a 23 Aviator from 275/40/22 to 275/50/22 im wondering has anyone done this or know of anyone that has and did it happen to rub? The 40 series i have the wife does not like too much and ride is a bit too rough for family comfort. Toyo proxes st 3 are the one’s im looking at.

Hi Vph102 and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. You can obtain size specs for both tires and compare below. The second link will also give you speedometer/odometer error information: Tire Size Calculator

Some basics: You will be increasing overall diameter by ~2.1”.
The increase in overall diameter will also throw off your speedometer and odometer readings.
For example: When your stock factory calibration shows your speed as 60mph with the original tire size, your actual speed will be ~64.24mph with the new tire size.

Will they fit? Most likely yes, since there is enough room for error in the wheel-wells.
However, if no one here can offer an answer you feel you can be comfortable with, I would recommend getting professional opinions from your tire shop.

I’m sure others will also jump in to help, so keep us updated and good luck.

There is a process using ForScan. It involves changing software settings in several modules. As Ford uses the same modules and settings across multiple platforms the link included gives a good overview of what is required.
