My Lincoln
2022 corsair
I'm reading that after turning the car off, I have to pull the turn signal to have headlights turn off automatically .
Simple, if I remember to do so. If I forget to pull turn signal, won't the headlights kill the battery?
2023 Lincoln Corsair
Second question: I can not locate the search feature for this forum. I would guess someone else has asked a similar question regarding headlights. Do have to scroll all questions to locate a head light reply?

Hi!

I am a little confused by this.

I turn off my car, the headlights do stay active. However, within a minute or two they turn off without me having to do anything.

I have a 2022 Corsair

what position is your headlight control lever set at?

Turn signal stalk only control the turn signal, Lane Keep Assist if equip, HIGH BEAM, which you pull to turn on, and push away to disengage. So maybe you are speaking of your high beams

Hi milinkov. Adding to the information others provided above:
The headlamps have a timed courtesy/automatic shut-off feature, which can be programmed to different durations utilizing the driver information center settings. You should not “…have to pull the turn signal to have headlights turn off automatically.”

The instructions for how to program the courtesy headlight feature in your particular model are located in your Owners Manual. If you don’t have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version from the Lincoln Owners website. https://www.lincoln.com/support/owner-manuals/

In recent Lincoln models, the Owners Manual can also be accessed via the infotainment system screen. Not sure about the 2023 Corsair.

EDIT- On an iPhone, the Search feature is accessed via the magnifying glass, located towards the top right of the screen.
If I recall correctly, it is similar on a computer screen.

Keep us updated and good luck.

from Lincoln corsair owners manual page 115
SWITCHING HEADLAMP EXIT DELAYON AND OFF To switch headlamp exit delay on, pull the turn signal lever toward you after switching your vehicle off. To switch headlamp exit delay off, pull the turn signal lever toward you again or switch your vehicle on. Note: The headlamps turn off after three minutes with any door open or 30 seconds after the last door closes.

Hi milinkov. Great! You found the answer in the Owners Manual.
The procedure in your Corsair is different than some other recent Lincoln Models (and my MKZ) which is why it is always good to check the Owners Manual for our own particular vehicles.

Also, as you discovered, the headlights will turn off either way. The only difference is the time delay. So you do not need to worry about them remaining on and killing the battery.
If they remain on longer than the programmed time delay, your vehicle may have a problem and need service.

Good luck.
