• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1998 Town Car" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1998 Town Car" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... I have read that you need to remove motor to replace head gasket on Lincoln Town Car 2004 Executive.
I have also read it can be done with motor in.
I have blown head gasket on LHS that need replacing.
Does the motor have to be remove to carry out replacement?
Thanks,
ken

Welcome to the Forum.

The 2007 service manual says the engine must be removed to change a head gasket which would also apply to your car, but as you suggest I also think it has been done in the car. However that may be on an earlier model where the engine is not tucked away under the metal of the cowling.

Your question would be better posed in the Town Car forum here: https://lincolnforums.com/forums/forums/19-Lincoln-Town-Car-(1981-2011) since this is where most eyes would be looking to help you. The Tech Forum is intended for the posting of solutions and the resulting questions that may arise. In the Tech Forum there is a specific sub-forum for the Town Car.

I will ask the moderators to move your thread to the Town Car forum (1981-2011), to give you a better chance of a resolution.

Good luck.
