My Lincoln
2023 Aviator
I am about to take delivery of a 2023 Aviator Reserve 1 loaded. This forum is making me second guess myself. Is there anyone out here happy with their 2023 Aviator? It would be reassuring to hear some positive experiences on this beautiful car.

Love this site, but this isn't the best place to help validate your decision. Plenty of fans, with just as many haters. Lincoln sold roughly 22,000 of these rides in '22. Yeah old numbers, but making a point here. They all aren't here touting or bashing. I don't love my '21, but I don't hate it either. Certainly could have used some tweaks in multiple areas to improve quality and reliability. Unfortunately it is a crap shoot on whether you get the good Aviator, or one of the others. Either way, congrats on your purchase and good luck!

You will always find upset people online. Nowadays they go everywhere and blast everything they aren’t happy with.
You know what the ones who are happy are doing? Being happy.
I sell many Aviators. It’s a popular car. You’ll be fine. Enjoy it

I really love mine! Had it for about a month now. I am a previous Lincoln owner (2016 MKC) and loved my old car so much I honestly couldn’t see myself in something other than a Lincoln. We went with the aviator due to needing more room for my son we welcomed in August. The ride is great and it is extremely comfortable. I’m very happy with it.
There are always haters out there, you just can’t please everyone. I hope you are as pleased with it as much as I am!

Other than the initial issue(s) I had with both my 2020 Explorer ST and our 2023 Aviator, We have been very happy with both vehicles. That's why I traded the Explorer for the Aviator. The long term mileage has been great (20.9 mpg over 6K miles) and 23.4 on our trip back to FL. The ride is much smoother than the Explorer, and overall, it's much quieter, even though I have installed a Borla exhaust, because it was too quiet when starting up!!
Only complaint I have had is with the 22" Goodyear tires. We solved that with Michelin Pilot 4 SUV Summer tires. Now the steering is responsive and no more wandering or training when the road is old and worn.

Best of all, being Black with the Jet package, it's gorgeous and we get lots of compliments. Highly recommend.

What has surprised me some, is that at our Clear Lake Iowa summer home, we see many more Aviators and Navigators than we do here in Naples. Several neighbors have one or the other.-+++

Thank you for the reply! I appreciate the tip on tires. Really looking forward getting this Aviator. I also got the Jet black package.

My 2022 was totaled on Tuesday, just bought a 2023 today. this was a chance to buy something else if I was unhappy. Nope, I bought the exact same thing only in blue.

Ooooh, do you have pix of the totaled vehicle? :p:p:p

VERY happy. I too have a loaded Reserve, with everything except the air suspension. Keep in mind, people with problems are always going to speak louder than those without (understandably). I see it here and on a Corvette C8 Forum. I took delivery of my '23 in late February and couldn't be happier. It is hands down one of the nicest cars I've owned and it has been problem free. We just got back from a 10+ hour roundtrip drive to pickup our new Weimaraner puppy and the Aviator was soooooo comfortable. Heated seats, cooled seats, massage seats...great highway power. So quiet.

I am very happy with my wife's aviator GT. Works great for the day to day school run and good for trips. Most comfortable vehicle I have ever driven. Only advice is use something like android auto as its much nicer than sync 3 for navigation/media. I use a wireless dongle which makes it very easy. Its an excellent vehicle if you value comfort above all else and the revel ultima is excellent. Same goes with the 30 way seats and heads up display. Cooled seats are also excellent way better than many other vehicles including my bmw as their ventilated seats are meh.

"Was" a very happy 2023 owner for the last 12 months until the last 3 weeks happened. We dropped our Aviator off for service on Nov 9th to get 2 recalls and a tire rotation completed. The brought the vehicle back the same day with no work done. They picked it back up on Nov 13th and I am still in a loaner car. Why? A faulty door latch was causing the alarm to go off and the lights to intermittently come on (after they initially returned it to me on Nov 16) which killed the battery - twice. So after turning in our 2020 Aviator on a lemon law due to so many issues, we are now reliving a headache.

I hope for everyone else out there they continue to enjoy their Aviators trouble free, but for us this will be our last Lincoln and it will be sold off before the warranty runs out (unless this one also becomes a lemon and they buy it back - again).

So wait, nothing was wrong with your ride when you initially dropped it off for service? The faulty latch didn't appear until after you took it in is how I am reading this. Strange.

I also thought they didn't do pickups without leaving a loaner. I was told by my service guy they have to leave a loaner if they pick up are car for service. Not sure how much truth there is to that.

1) The alarm was going off intermittently before I dropped it it and was mentioned to them to look into, but not the lights going on and off and then draining the battery. That was a NEW issue introduced after they "supposedly" fixed the alarm issue by replacing the battery and then reprogramming the body control module.

They returned the Aviator to us on Nov 15th and the lights kept coming on and off and killed the battery overnight. The car was then towed on a flatbed back to the dealership on Nov 16th. So they did not fix the alarm issue that was mentioned and made the car unusable.

2) No, I did not receive a loaner until the car went in for the third time on Nov 16th. They switched out the Corsair loaner for a Navigator because we had to have a larger vehicle to go to visit family late last week.

3) I have not heard from them this week or since before Thansgiving

Maybe I have just had bad luck with the dealership and our Aviators. Whatever the reason, our experience has not been enjoyable with this car recently and now are back to wondering what will go wrong next.

I am onboard now. Sorry to hear you are having such a time with now your second Aviator. If you can't get this one squared away, you probably should look elsewhere. The Aviator is nice. But not if it not operating correctly. Good luck!
