Hands Free Liftgate

Can anyone tell me where the "sweet spot" is for the hands free lift gate? I usually can't find it. It seems to be somewhere around the second "L" in Lincoln. But I can't get to it with any consistency. Anyone have a trick?

I had troubles at first finding that as well. What I was doing was waving my foot parallel to the bumper. However the proper way is to use a Kick action perpendicular to the bumper. Try that and it should work every time!

“Sweet spot” in our 2016 is under the second L in Lincoln. Works every time as long as you have the key fob on your person!

Mine works anywhere in the back except directly under the tow hitch.

Can always just push the button. (I know, I know, it's reprehensible to even suggest such a prehistoric endeavor. But consider others watching you, standing behind your car, waving your leg to and fro, cussing, pounding the glass ....

Mine works right in the center of the rear bumper, move your foot perpendicular to the bumper not side to side.
