My Lincoln
1996 Lincoln Town Car
Ignition Switch is how I start my 96 Lincoln Town Car until I figure out this combination.
Those three pieces are in the ignition hole right after the key cylinder. It basically decides where the position of the ignition module is at whether it's in the rest position run position or auxiliary position. I hope I'm right and thinking that ????please help.

There is no module in the column.
It may be possible to incorrectly install the pieces above. Or make the position of the key cylinder out of alignment with the switch.

If that is what you meant then you are correct. If there is question on installation, get the factory shop manual.
The price of the shop manual is less than paying for labor. And the shop manual has a good description in removal and installation.
