Flat Towing Class Action

Seems many of you are having the same problem as I'm having. After being advertised as a vehicle that could be flat towed behind an RV the 2024 Lincoln Corsair Hybrid will not enter into the Neutral Tow mode that disengages the transmission. This needs to happen to facilitate flat towing. My local dealer even had a sign in the windshield of the vehicle I purchased stating that it could be flat towed. After spending $6 thousand dollars to install a tow package, the installer, my dealer, and me discovered that this was a problem, and that Lincoln knew about it for several months but did not fix while allowing their dealers to continue to sell the vehicle to folks like me who specifically bought the vehicle for this purpose. Lincoln has promised a fix in the 4th quarter of 2024. I've spoken with an attorney and am considering legal action if Lincoln's promise is just more of their BS. I live in Texas. Does anyone want to join me in attempting to get Lincoln to take responsibility for this problem and make us whole?

I have been trying to find an attorney myself - but I bought my Corsair in Florida

For everyone that is waiting for Lincoln to get their act together and fix the software problem so that they can flat tow their 2024 Hybrid Lincoln Corsair - please go online to Federal Trade Commission and file a fraud complaint - I just talked with them and this is classified as a fraud case - they will not do anything for each individual but they will look at the case and go against Lincoln - I was told that it could result in a class action law suit - the more complaints filed the better chance we have for federal action against Lincoln.

I cannot truefly answer that question - All my dealings are with Lincoln and Lincoln says on all the Ford and Lincoln - only the hybrids can be flat towed - but do not have any info about the 2025 - all Lincoln dealer in Florida told me was that they did not have any 2025 hybrid vehicles say they knew nothing.

No 2025 hydrids are available in Ocala, Florida yet, so the Lincoln dealer is not making any statements about it yet - the dealer is as unhappy with LIncoln as we are - that is what I was told 3 weeks ago.
I do not know if the GT is other than Hybrid or what - but Ford and Lincoln say that only the Hybrid vehicles are flat towable.

Yes I am the sales manager at a Lincoln dealership in Hot Springs, AR and we have a customer who wanted to purchase a 2024 Corsair GT and we couldn't get it to go in to tow mode and even had our master tech look at it, we've escalated the issue as much as we can with Lincoln but haven't had a response yet. We have no problem getting the Hybrid Nautilus to go in to tow mode but our customer wants the Corsair. I was hoping maybe they had a fix for the 2025 and I've shied away from ordering any so I don't have any in stock because we have plenty of 2024's left

I am really not impressed with your statement - I have been waiting since March 2024 and Lincoln has given me no response at all. I found out that the fix which was suppose to be issued BY THE 4TH QUARTER OF 2024 is now delayed until the 1st quarter of 2025 by a 3rd party - Lincoln has done nothing for notifying any customers when the fix is coming - that is waiting 1 year for a fix that I paid full price for a year ago. I will bet you that Lincoln will not fix this quarter but delay it until next quarter.

I have tested 5 or 6 2025 Corsair GTs at a couple of different dealers and they have all gone into the Tow Mode. The initialisation takes about 5 seconds to complete.

So maybe the issue is just with the 2024's

I just received a notice that there is a "special Field Action 24L10 that my 2023 "manual incorrectly states that your vehicle can be recreationally flat towed. You cannot recreationally flat tow your vehicle with all wheels on the ground because damage to the powertrain may occur".... That is the ONLY reason I bought this vehicle. What is our recourse? I just filed a complaint with FTC but I'm unsure what they will do.. This is totally unacceptable. Is there an attorney that will start a class action lawsuit.

The FTC does nothing unless they get a lot of complaints - I assume thousands of complaints - that is what I was told - Ford is non-responsive - the only option i know of is to get an attorney - which is very expensive - you cannot file a class action law suit - the way it works is - if enough people file lawsuits against Ford - then Ford makes it a class action lawsuit. That is what an attorney told me.

To get an attorney call the state Bar Association in the state you bought the vehicle in and ask to find the correct kind of attorney - you might also be able to find the contact info on-line. I spent 7 months looking for an attorney until somebody told me - this is about the only way - unless you know an attorney that will take the case.

Also, please note if you have already flat towed the vehicle - the transmission has overheated and it is not a matter of have you damaged the transmission, but how much damage have you done.
