I have the Aviator Reserve 1 AWD and am getting more engine noise than expected when accelerating from a stop to a normal speed around town. After getting up to speed the engine calms down and the Vehicle is very quite. Is this normal? Seems the engine rev's more then I expected with an unpleasant engine sound.

What drive mode are you using when this occurs? Excite keeps the RPMs up higher than the other modes, so if you are in that mode, it is "normal".
Is it louder than during test drives? Maybe I should bow out since I have a Navigator, but mine is louder during acceleration as I think all engines are.
Maybe you can go to a dealer and they can let you drive one for comparison.
Hi Pegster. What you (and others) are hearing is synthesized engine sound coming through the audio system. For some unfortunate reason, Lincoln decided that their vehicles were so quite that owners would be unhappy they could not hear the engine, so they felt the need to add synthesized engine sound. It is programmed to be louder when in Sport mode, but still present in other modes.
I know it can not be tuned off on my 2018 without some reprogramming through FORScan software and an OBDII adapter. Perhaps your Lincon Dealer can tell you how to turn your off. The other issue with turning the synthesized engine sounds off is it also turns off the Active Noise Cancellation feature. At least on the MKZ.

Has anyone been successful with the dealer disabling ANC ? I've been told its impossible
Hi ContinentalJS. In certain vehicles, the synthesized engine sound can be disabled by the vehicle owner, using FORScan software and an OBDII adapter. Information seems to indicate performing that reprogram also disables ANC.
It is likely that most Dealers would not be willing to perform that reprogram, especially while the vehicle is still under warranty. And my guess is that many/most Dealerships are probably not even aware how to perform it.

Hi centex. Yes, it is not hard to do with the FORScan software and an OBDII connector.

Turning off the engine noise (and by extension, ANC) is just short of the bottom.

Thank you sir. I've seen people doing it through ForSCAN, just wondering if the dealer does it, my electrical warranty may still be valid.

Hi ContinetalJS. Keep in mind that Auto Dealers are independent franchises that have a licensing agreement with an automaker to sell their cars. Therefore, most Dealers will not change as-built factory programming, since it can lead to warranty issues with Lincoln (or any automaker). Doing it can cause them, and you, problems with Lincoln later. Not always, but it is possible.
Generally speaking, turning off ANC/Syntehesized engine sounds should not lead to any problems with the car. However, what would happen if there was one later, and Lincoln discovered the programming changes, would be a crapshoot.
No one, including your Lincoln Dealer, can guarantee that Lincoln would not deny a later warranty claim that can be linked to the program changes, even if only remotely linked.
Not trying to tell you no to do it> And definitely check with your local Lincoln Delaers to see wht they will and will not do. Just felt it important to point out the warranty realities, since you asked.

Hi Fafelue. If you reread the earlier replies in this thread, you will see that the noise is due to a synthesized engine sounds through the sound system. It only adds engine sounds when accelerating, which is why you no longer hear it once up to speed.
I don't care for it either. However, the choices we have to date are to use the FORScan software to disable it (which also disables Active Noise Control) or live with it. I choose to live with it.
If you still think you have a noise issue, your best course of action would be to to make a service appointment, and demonstrate the problem for the when you bring it in..
